What do the displays on food mean for calories

    Example: per 100g 453KJ/107Kcal

Does that mean there are 107 calories in 100g or 107,000 Because the K stands for 1000?

And does that mean if I am eating 700 calories for dinner I can only have around 5g of the stuff?

    Thanks
    Dave

When people in general parlance refer to calories they mean kilocalories.

So there's 107 calories in that serving.
