dumbell half sit up question

    Hi Guys,

I got a new routine from a personal trainer over a week ago.
One of the exercises I did was called the dumbell half sit up.

    To start.

Lie flat on the ground. Raise the right leg 90 degrees. Raise right arm 90 degrees straigh up above the shoulder with a light dumbell attached.
The left leg is straigh out ahead of you and the right arm is relaxed flat on the ground.
Pull yourself up into a half sitting up position while keeping your right arm straight, your left arm flat on the ground (and avoid the temptation to use the left arm/hand to help you up).

have i got this correct ? I know its hard to visualise or correct me without seeing how i do the exercise just Im not entirely sure im remembering it correctly. Ive looked online and the kettlebell half sit up/ quarter sit up looks very similar except most of these guys appear to use their left hand (relating it to my example) to help get them up.

Also when i do this exercise, i feel the burn mainly in the lower back more so than the abs. Is this correct?

    Thanks
