Nice to see Chibi Robo getting a re-release. Might open that game up to even more people since it's a little gem that unfortunately didn't get the attention it deserved. Might be wishful thinking but maybe it will convince Nintendo to bring out Captain Rainbow over here.

I think this is a real backwards step from Nintendo, whay cant we have a new Mario Tennis? or new DK and others. Wil be very interested to see the pricing on these, it had better not be anywhere near full price.

It's a cop out alright. Disappointing that they are doing this when they should be focusing on new games. Still alot cheaper and quicker to do this. I'd be interested in Metroid Prime 1 and 2 as I missed them on Gamecube but still, the price had better be cheap. Seeing as Resi 4 was €45 this may not be the case.

I'm interested in jungle beat since I missed it first time and heard it's great.

I guess, ive never played the gamecube metroids so ill definetly pick them up if they release them. This has potential. Now if only they would add more features to some of their vc games like online play or even waggle motion that would be cool.

No thanks, I want my VC games to be exactly as I remember them, thats the whole point as far as I'm concerned.

I particularly despise unnecessary waggle controls in Wii games.

I would have prefered some good new original Wii games, sadly there's nothing of the sort on the horizon, so I sold the console. First time I've ever sold a console that's still in production.

Well not really the waggle thing(I was thinking of using it for duck hunt etc it could work there), being able to play multiplayer snes games over the net would be good though.

Pikmin was a great game but Power Tennis was a letdown after Mario Tennis.I have both games and enough Wavebirds to play them without having to buy them again for the Wii.

    :(

Thats not true either. there are more than a few either confirmed or in production. cant be bothered to list them here there has been more than one thread on the topic on this board.

I think its a great idea for people who didnt have a gamecube. I'd love to play MP 1 and 2 with the controls from 3. Pikman is supposed to be great. They are old games on the other hand and should be no more than 30 euro.

They have been released as full price titles - RRP for Pikmin is €39.99. ( Don't shoot the messenger )

Has anyone gotten Pikmin yet? I'm debating whether to get this new version or to get the original GC version.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,894 ✭✭✭evad_lhorg

this isnt a cop out. the wii has reached so many houses now that it gives new gamers the chance to play some classics like pikmin 1 and 2 and Metroid Prime. And they would work perfect with the wii controls.

Pikmin is supposed to be better than the gamecube version with the new controls.

Not sure if I prefer Pikmin 1 or 2. 1 was an absolutely superb game that was marred by a poor final boss and how small it was. Never had a problem with the time limit. Pikmin 2 was a much bigger game but the level design wasn't as good and the randomly generated dungeons got a bit monotonous since they lacked character. Either way I loved both and would wholeheartily recommend them to anyone.

yea first i heard of this was seeing Pikmin on the shelfs for 35 euro. its a great idea but i think it should under the 30 euro threshold. Luigi's Mansion anyone, its a game ive always been curious about but never got around to acquiring.

Lads, isn't every wii game basically a gamecube game with wii controls? ;)

There is no excuse for the full price though, its profiteering.

IMO, i didnt find luigi's mansion that good a game, and believed he dodged a bullet by not getting a chance to play it.

Anyone recommend a good wireless gamecube controller for wii? Don't wanna start a new thread for this. My cable just isn't long enough to stretch across for those eternal darkness replays. :)

the only one really is the wavebird, but theyre damn hard(and expensive) to find nowadays

Dont know where you'll get a wavebird anymore but you could stay wired...
    Try this http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-23-49-en-15-gamecube-70-2ola.html

Its an official gamecube controller (re-released in white for the wii on the japanese market) complete with extended cable lengths (3m).

Cheaper option staying wired would be an extension cable such as http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.19116
    1.8m extension for $2.50.

Luigis Mansion was odd but I often think of revisiting it - it was original and oddly addictive although also highly frustrating and a bit weird.

I popped that into the drive the other day, Luigis Mansion, still brilliant, sadly under appreciated.
Too many people just wanted more Mario, didn't have room in their heart for Luigi cleaning house.
