Cardio and muscle

Quick question. I've started upping my cardio to around 3 hours a week, as well as the weights (obviously). I'm doing it to burn fat (just can't shift it, easygainer, etc etc), but I'm worried ll that cardio will waste the muscle I have.

If i get in enough protein will this be ok, or is Cardio just not compatible with putting on muscle???

What is your diet like first of all? Typical day?

If u wanna burn fat stay away from the protein shakes! Loadsa calories in em- good for bulking up and presesrving fat levels! Just dont starve yourself way too much- body will burn fat all day-remember a pound of fat is about 3,500 calories it takes time!

As its been said it takes time mate. You want to do it the right way so it stays off. Anyone can lose weight fast but it comes back with more fat friends.

It has taking me 3 year to get from 128 kg down to 90kg what i am now. In saying that i would say only 18months was hard active training the other half was just messing around.

I lost alot of mass doing cardio but i got alot leaner then what i was. Its give and take mate.,

Look at what your goals are, Why do you want to lose the weight.

I wanted to lose it because i was to slow at running. I could carry a tone on my back but i was very slow.

Now im able to carry a small mini car but move alot faster :D

I feel a lot better for it. At the moment i am trying to bulk back up but keep my cardio as well. Its not going very well.

But keep at it mate. It will happen.

Yeah, loads of calories: Nectar 90cals 28gr Protein
    Cytosport PROtein 160cals 40gr Protein
    ON Whey 110Cals 22gr Protein

Yep you'll get really fat drinking 3-400 calories a day, There's more calories in a decent steak for god's sake.

Once the calories are in check, keep your protein high, good fats high, carbs low (not crazy low), and moderate carbs on heavy training days and your laughing.

Most important in my opinion are the good fats, it's the same idea with water, if you drink lots of water your body is less likely to store excess. So by taking in good fats, your body will find it easier to metabolise fat, coupled with low-moderate carb intake it will be easier to adjust to burning fat as a fuel source, opposed to burning fast acting carbs.

If you're worried about muscle loss why not try interval training with weights. Such as the now infamous 300 workout or some kettlebell workouts?

keep up your resistance training to preserve your muscle volume, it will also elevate your metabolism! The cardio will not spare your muscle as it looks for energy but if you have an adequate amount of protein in your diet this will not be an issue!
