Had a lot of snow overnight here. But the temperature is now above freezing so its starting to melt, its strange clumpy melting with bizarre scenes..

All the roofs look like this with huge overhangs of dripping snow that break off and clump to the ground below every so often:-

    barn_melt.jpg

The snow sits like a thick blanket on everything, breaking off in great big lumps giving a very odd look to the roadside heather :-

    snowy_heather.jpg

This is the local water reservoir for the estate I live on, to the left you can see melting snow literally floating on top :-

    water_pool.jpg

More of the weird snow clumping, sloughing off, very strange to see :-

    road_walk.jpg

In dips in the fields great pools of slushy water have appeared :-

    melting_fields.jpg

A ray of light hits a distant hill :-

    sun_catcxhes_hill.jpg

Hard to capture it all, the melting snow has a kind of ugly beauty about it thats hard to capture on camera I think.

I don't know if this counts. This was a little icicle/snowsicle hanging off the railings outside my apartment. As I missed all the cool action all day long, this is from my meagre Snow 2009 collection.

Great pics - there's a pic of the ha'penny bridge in snowfall with people on it on the front of the Irish Daily Mail, looks like a painting - anyone know if there's a way to get it without scanning it in, scans from papers are usually **** as is the paper its on. :D

    Dublin hills
    c300m high

Edit, having looked at map and pictures, the first one of road is probably at about 200m and the entrance to 3 Rock is about 250m high.
