I train 5 times a week and recently have been doing really well as I've kept to it. However, despite eating like a horse (granted I eat very well) I'm losing weight. I really can't afford to and wonder should I try eating more or training less? I'm training for a marathon.

Can you post your diet/training regime?

Generally when people say they're eating a lot (or a little, depending on the situation) they're not, and putting it down in writing helps you see that.

Breakfast- Quinoa made half with milk and water. Banana. Herbal tea. Two slices of brown homemade bread and jam.

10.30-Yoghurt and fresh berries. Crackers with egg or ham. Water

1pm-Homemade dinner, usually pasta and chicken or potato and fish pie or the like. Apple and orange. Cup of coffee.

    3pm- piece of fruit.

6pm-Dinner, usually stirfry and cous cous or brown rice with either chicken or fish.

    8pm-juice and homemade brownbread.

I run 3 times a week and follow it by 15 minutes of weights, 10 minutes on cross-trainer and a short swim.
Twice a week before work I swim for an hour and do half an hour of yoga/pilates beforehand.

    Any advice greatly appreciated, thanks

I've dropped 3 kg in a week, I'm quite worried now, have had people commenting recently and I don't think they mean it in a positive way.

your diet is good, you are eating quite a balanced diet reguraly. this will keep your metabolism firing! how much training are you doing and what type?

I run 3 times a week (8-10miles depending on energy levels) and follow it by 15 minutes of weights, 10 minutes on cross-trainer and a short swim. I run outside and return to the gym afterwards. I can't stand treadmills.
Twice a week before work I swim for an hour and do half an hour of yoga/pilates beforehand to relax my mind. I swim continually only taking two short breaks after 20 and 40 minutes.

I'm eating as much as I can but the weight is just dropping off me. Two years ago I did next to no exercise, now I'm bordering on obsessed.

Have you used fitday to calculate your calorie needs and your calorie expenditure? tbh I disagree with the poster above you, your 10.30, 3pm and 8pm meals are pretty pointless, and there's a fair lack of protein. Plus if you are training for a marathon you've got to expect an increase in calorie needs. I'm guessing that if you are training for a marathon and eating like that then you are worried about gaining fat if you go too far the other way. That sort of thinking won't help you.

    +1 on this.

By my reckoning you are doing at least 8 hours of exercise every week, and you may well have a fast metabolism anyway, which means it is no wonder the weight is falling off you.

You need to bulk up your meals with good quality protein and fats in place of fast-acting carbs like juice and bread that are just going to get burned off as quickly as you get them into you. Think more fish, eggs, lean meat and nuts.

E.g. add some nuts in in the afternoon with your fruit.

If the weight is falling off you you are not taking in sufficient calories to fuel your activity, simple as.

Protein from food or supplements? What kinds of nuts? Ran 15 miles tonight and found I am wrecked afterwards, not eating enough I'd say.

Protein from everything. You should try to have some each meal, it makes it easier to get the full amount necessary. Start by calculating your daily calorie needs, you are almost certainly undereating. If you don't know how much you need to eat to maintain weight then it won't work.
