Just out of interest. I take in approx 180 grams of protein a day, I weigh 11.5 stone and I'm 5'11. Going to try to up my protein intake to about 220 if I can manage it.

Also can someone tell me what is the maximum amount of protein that the body can process in an hour, think it's 50 or something?

I'm 6ft, 96kg (15st) and I consume around 360 grams a day. Probably a little top heavy but I usually eat fairly low carb so have to make up the calories somehow. I eat a lot of fat too, though I've never explcitly calculated how much.

171cm (about 5'7" or 5'8") and 65KG at the moment (slightly heavy for me). I'd say I take in about 100-150g of protein a day, give or take.

Weight 108kg, take in about 250 grams of protein seems to be enough to make gains

    I'm 12 stone, 5ft 9 and I work really hard to get about 90-120 grammes a day. :(
Honestly can't see how I can improve on that.

120grams a day is alot for a vegetarian!!
That is usually including cottage cheese and whey.
Problem is I'm trying to lose fat, so I'm on 1600 cals a day.

1600 cals/ day for your height & weight is ridiculously low and unsustainable long-term. No wonder you're waking up with hunger pangs (saw it in the motivation thread in tLL - I'm purposely staying out of it, I'd have to ban myself if I spoke my mind on some of those posts..).

A minimum of 1800 cals/ day with up to 2000 - 2200 cals/ day if you're exercising will allow you to lose weight at a more attainable level and a more achievable food restriction in the long run.

I put in a typical days diet on fitday.com just now. Some of the protein content to portion sizes are a bit suspect ... but here is a rough breakdown:

    5' 7 (171cm) & 76 kg (12 stone)

    Calories: 3393
    Fat -- 112.6g -- 31%
    Carbs -- 375.6g -- 41%
    Protein -- 230.3g -- 28%

I'm 171 cm too - that 1 cm is important! :pac:

What do you mean when you say 65kg is slightly heavy for you? Currently I'm ~76kg and probably for the first time in my life I don't feel skinny (since getting past 75kg).

About 4 years ago I used to do about 350km cycling per week. This brought me down to ~67kg and I was thin as a rake... so wondering what it is that you do that makes 65kg seem heavy at the moment for the same height? Just wondering.

I'm about 5'7" too. I weigh 60kgs and have fat that I want to lose, I don't consider myself skinny.

I consider myself very light though.

Ah, I've been walking around at 62-64 for a good while now (edit: and very lean at that weight). I have to keep a fairly close eye on the weight with the muay thai. I had an injury and had to stop training for about 4 weeks but it's hard to slow down the eating to match so I'm slightly heavier than I would normally be. :) I was 65.5 going to bed last night. That's 1.5Kg of pure fat. Sounds like nothing, but I hate shifting it.

Ah don't get me wrong, I wouldn't deny for a second that I'm skinny. I'm just slightly heavier than I would normally be.

That is more than enough encouragement for me! I do not a pleasant hungry person make. I honestly would much rather be fat, than put up with that misery. Ice-cream parlour beafraid! Very very afraid ;)
    Thanks G'em.

5ft 11", 72 kg (Possibly the heaviest under 6fter here so far? :P) Without a shake probably about the 80 grams a day mark, on workout days (split session) probably about 120 grams (1 shake after workout), on full body days (inc bench and squat) probably closer to 150 grams (Shake after workout and before bed). Looking here that seems to be a bit low... heh.. might need to up that a bit ;P

Anyone know of a good protein counter? I might be underestimating..

    Boss Arky is also heavier.

I'm about 5'9/10. Don't know exact. About 79/80kg at moment. I have no idea my protein intake. I just try and eat protein at every meal.

Annoyed because roads are too bad to go up to TF sandyford. All the more annoying as I only went to the gym twice last week. Will just have to bump my gym routine back a day this week.
