Dude, which mock paper did your school use?
'Cause i want some hint on what to study for Maths and I have the paper 1 exam tomorrow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,288 ✭✭✭millington

Bit late but I presumed they were all the same. Basically you need to know everything that comes up :D
and there was a question on drawing a line where you had 2 equations (2x+y=5,x-y=1) or something like that I couldnt do.

MOD EDIT: If you're referring to a specific question on the mock paper, put it behind spoilers!

I had to go into hospital for a week to get my appendix taken out and I won't be able to do the mocks.
Anyone know if I'll have to repeat them or when I do?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

Entirely up to your school, I imagine. The mocks aren't mandatory for the Junior Cert or anything, they're just a practice most schools put on around this time of year.

Are the mock papers the same in every school?
    I've mine in 2 weeks! :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

There are 2 companies that do mocks for JC and LC.

Just some general rules about discussing mocks: Posting exam papers or providing links to exam papers will earn you a ban. As will "pm me for X exam paper".

You can post what was on your exam, but it must be within spoiler tags. To do a spoiler tag type [spoile] with your text between the tags [/spoiler ] and without a space between the word "spoiler" and the ] sign in the second tag.

    Good luck everyone!

The best sort of practice (or mock) exams are actual past papers.
If you just want questions to do, make up your own.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,992 ✭✭✭✭partyatmygaff

Mine start in two weeks and i haven't studied since the start of 3rd year.
Got 83% average in Xmas(Pulled down by 3 65-70%ers in all 3 languages) by just cramming the night before so hopefully i can pull it off again by cramming in the week before.

Not really worried, just want to get it over with.

I did the other choice for the poem question, but if I did the other I would've chosen Mid Term Break by Seamus Heaney.

do you do french? because im just wondering how long a letter has to be in the mocks? my teacher just tells us to state the point and move on to the next point?? but then my friend in a different french class is told to state the point and develop it (write 3 or 4 sentences on that point)...how does everyone here do it? because i dont want to lose marks because of my teacher!!!!!!!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8 Helennn.

My letter was about 15 lines long but then again I'm awful at french :p All I done was write a line or 2 on the point and then moved on because thats what we were taught in class..I'd say 15-20 lines would be alright? If its really really long the examiner might think you're just dragging it out?..My advice isn't always the best tho :pac:

    Business Paper 2..
Q.1- Books Of First Entry and Ledger
    Q.2-Final A/c and Balance sheet
Q.3-Reporting On Accounts (you need to know ratios for that question)
    Q.4- Business Documents
    Q.5- Source of Finance Question
    Q.6- Intergrated Delivey Systems
If you look at past exam papers them questions should all make sense.

    Irish Paper 2..
Letter was a summer job you got or a new pet you got. Can't remember the third option. The question on poetry was love or lonliness again can't remember the other ones and for the story I did a weak trait in somebody but there was school life aswell

Mocks are produced by different companies, my friends cousin did hers and told him what was on maths, our exams were completely different! He ended up half finishing most questions!
Study what your teacher tells you or it may throw you off in the exams!
And i believe that if you know whats coming up it will not be a true indication on wheather or not your able for Higher level etc.
After all who is going to tell you what is coming up in June?

    There are two companies:
Dublin Examining Board (DEB), recognizable by a barcode on the front of their papers.
Examcraft, recognizable by a barcode AND large tick on the front of their papers (tick is usually to left of exam title, if you've got them, you'll know what I'm talking about)
Hope that cleared things up a bit!
