    Hi guys,
Basically I only got back into fitness and training about a week ago after 6 months of dong no working out and very little exercise. Before then Id go to the gym regularly. Anyway, Ive been going to a gym for the past week and decided Id buy some supplements for after a training session. I went into Evergreen Healthstores where there was a small enough selection and bought a product from USN called Cre-tec Anabolic. It was quite pricy and was wondering if this is highly rated or should I have gone for the whey protein? Also, should I start it now or leave it a few weeks until Im back into regular training? Finally could someone link me to a page/article on the best weight lifting to build up muscle (no idea what "dead weights" are etc).
    Thanks.

Well done on getting back into the gym.

I dont know much about the supplement you mentioned, I have no experience with it, but i would say before considering supplements, have a look at your diet and fix that.

Whey protein is great for after workouts, protein is needed for building muscle.
after workout, you generally need a carb to protein ratio of 2 to 1.

The supplement you bought is creataine based, which is a substance the body creates for (anaerobic) energy. Supplementing it is to give increased energy level for workouts, so you can do a more intense workout.

As you are only starting out again, I dont think you need this. You will see results regardless once you start training and eating correctly.

Have a read of the stickies on here there is plenty of information.

If you post your current diet and workout plan, i'm sure ppl can help you further.

As a basis tho, if you want to build muscle, concentrate on compound exercises such as bench press, squat, barbell row, deadlift, military press, chin ups and dips.
3 sets of 6 to 8 reps of each exercise.
make sure to perform one or two warm up sets at a lighter weight beforehand.

I would advise going to a fitness instructor or personal trainer in your gym to get taught the exercises and for them to check your form.

    hope this helps :)
