black absorbs all colours so if no colour is reflected how is it a colour?

black is a void of colour.

No - pure white is the absence of colour, not to be confused with a colour which is formed by the blending of all other colours - which is not pure white

yeah but in light.... white is all the colours. which we can see when they are refracted.

i think when you are talking about paints and stuff is when white is a lack of colour.

You are right about natural white light being a composition of "all the colours of the rainbow" - however, that is not pure white, merely an assembly of visible light, which we call white!

Paints and pigments is a different matter altogether!!!!
