dont think its doms, just very tight, just wondering if anyone had similar experience and how to prevent it in the future or loosen them up

I found Doms in my calves to be extremely painful... to the extent they felt like a pice of string about to snap...but it was just doms.. hopefully you have just doms too

Thats a lot of work, and although legs can be abused somewhat without a proper heal on your shoes, combined with the calf raise's you might just have slightly injured your cattle.

Resist the urge to stretch them while they're cold, try some gentle exercise's like a leisurely stroll and followed 'maybe' (if you genuinely know how to stretch your calfs) a few minutes of gentle stretching.

If the soreness lasts more than a few days I'd layoff the raise's for awhile.

Btw, your calfs are hit pretty good with that amount of leg work without isolating them further.

I second what Mairt says 'do not stretch your calves when cold'.

You probably need to use a foam roller to work out any kinks in the calf muscles. There's a separate post here on tight hamstrings - have look at the recommendations there. The rules are the same.

I get this while skiing. I find a good way to loosen them up is jumping up and down in a swimming pool - really push off your tip-toes.
