Frustration and Irritation

I don't know if it's just me, but everyone seems on edge these days. Nobody in work is in a good mood, everyone at home is cranky... is this atmosphere of frustration and irritation limited to my colleagues, friends or family, or is it more widespread?

Anyone got any ideas how I can spread some goodwill and happiness?

That was goodwill and happiness, not blindness and disgust.

Hugs are awesome. People in my class don't hug enough, this saddens me. I didn't there would be such a change between BA and MA.
Fwiw I'm happy, i've just moved house and its great. Hoping this happiness continues. Also, would you like a whiskey Blush??

I think its the recession and the fact that everyone is talking about it. People are nervous about the stability of their jobs and whether they are going to be able to pay back loans/mortgages.

Worrying & talking about it is going to solve nothing though.

Me - I'm happy, just started a great new job and I'm loving it. Didn't get a great new package or anything but I am no longer working for Satan so that is priceless!

In my work everyone kinda accepts it's a horrid time, we tend to laugh at the most weird/stupid/ironic things, and have five minutes of idiocy whenever we can, that said, I work in IT so it's not hard to find those five minutes :D

This sounds truly silly, but a couple of weeks ago the OH asked me where I wanted to go for dinner, and I'd a mad craving for supermacs, so we drove nearly an hour to the nearest supermacs for dinner :D

I'm still laughing at the silliness of it :D it was fun, honestly :D Doing silly/stupid things that make you laugh, be it driving to supermacs, building sandcastles in winter, whatever, can be enormous fun :D

Tickle them! Or blow raspberries on their tummy. You can't fail to laugh when someone does that.

In dublin? I'd have nowhere to stay, otherwise I'd love to get way too drunk again and make a fool of myself in front of boardsies....

Word of advice....don't be the spreader of goodwill and happiness.
All the depressed peeps will latch on to you and expect to be cheered.
    And you'll catch it.

Everybody in Ireland is depressed off their heads. All the talk of this bloody "R". Im in Spain at the mo and everybody seems to be more upbeat. Maybe its the weather. :)

I LOVE it when people do this.....the last office I worked in the lads had a friendly "My missus is so better than yours" baking rivalary.
I got to play judge :D
    It was fan-bloody-tastic.

Yeah, I've noticed everyone is grumpy lately too. I certainly am, mostly because I'm stressed to the hilt about A) college, B) what the fúck to do next year, and C) money. Everyone close to me seems to be grumpier than usual: my mum, my dad, my boyfriend, my best friend...

Hugs don't go down too well in our office, actually. I tried being cheery, but it didn't work. I tried chocolate rice cakes. No joy. Then things got manic, and I went back to my usual vocal, narky self... new leaf firmly shredded!

I could murder a hot Jameson. Snuggly!

That's not a bad idea actually. If I've time this weekend I'll make what I usually make and make everyone happy with yummy chocolate-y homemade goodies!

There there, good things take effort, don't give up just yet. *e-hugs*

I have some scotch left over, you can have that if you like....

Ah no, I'm far funnier when I rant. The comedy gets a bit lost online. I figure I'm entertaining people, so it's not necessarily a bad thing.

I couldn't take your scotch, you're a poor student! (Thanks for the offer though! *hug*)

At least once ever day compliment someone and genuinely mean it. I dont mean a fake 'Oh your shoes are fab,im so jealous', more along the lines of 'you look really beautiful today' or 'You really have a wonderful smile and it always brightens up my day.'
Compliments are given out so rarely yet a genuine compliment can give you a happy buzz for the rest of the week.

I would prefer someone telling me I make them laugh/smile rather than choclate or brownies :)
