    Hey guys,

I am wondering if someone could explain to me what a stitch is and if I am getting one.

I used to get this while cycling but now its mostly when I run ( I have just started ).

I get a pain in my right hand side - really its at what I think is the top of my colon ( at the bend before it goes horizontal ) on my right hand side. I can feel it building up, as if its wind but it gets bloody sore and nothing bar stopping helps.

    Any clue ?
Am I barking up the wrong tree with thinking its a stitch.

    Thanks Rob

to give a better idea its just in front of where the gall bladder is indicated in this ( i dont think its anything to do with the gb by the way)

I had this before when i started running. Are you at all overweight? It might sound weird, but sometimes that extra weight up front bouncing around can cause a pull on the abdominal muscles. I found that strengthening the muscles would get rid rid of it, but it took a while. After i hit 2k on the treadmill my side was in bits.

Just stop when it gets like this, do whatever else you have to do (if your in the gym) and finish up with 3 sets of planks, try holding them for 30 sec and go from there.
