    hey guys
I'm training for Irelands strongest man and i'd thought i'd let you all know what my diet is like.

8am - Protien shake: 1 cup of oats, 2 scoops of protien, pint of milk, bananna.

11am - 2 breast of chicken with pasta and light sauce

2pm - 2 breasts of chicken in 3 whole grain sandwiches

5pm - Pre workout shake: 2 scoops of protien, milk, yogurt and a digestive buiscuit.

    5.30pm Workout 90mins to 2hrs

Post workout shake - Cellmass creatine for muscle recovery(mixed with water)

8:30 pm - 2 breasts of chicken with baby potatoes and hot sauce for flavour

11pm - Pint of milk and bed

Its very managable and not too expensive because my butcher looks after me.

Gimme some feed back or if ya have any questions i'd be happy to answer them.

    Hi Farmer,
I have moved this post to the fitness forum where more lifters post. It will still be be found in the nutrition forum with a link to the new location.

I would have wholegrain pasta at 11am, best keep any simple carbs until after a workout. Also what is the "light sauce". Tomato puree is naturally quite high in sugar 18%, but many light sauces are really just diluted down tomatos with added starch to thicken it. This can make it appear low in sugar, but really you might be swapping for processed carbs, and I would sooner just have normal tomato sauce. I tend to pick up the 2 brands of jar side by side and compare ingredients, you can spot what trick they have used to make it "light".

You are getting in milk but some might advise even more. Have you calculated your actual calorie intake?

And where is this cheap butcher?!

    what weight are u?

no real need for two scoops of protein pre workout, one wont do any harm but dont bother with two. save one for post workout with the cellmass.might be worth having one last serving of protein just before bed to feed your body through the night as it grows and repairs

Hi Farmer, I hear your doing some serious damage with one-handed snatches these days?! Did you catch James Fennelly on the Strongest Man competition on Bravo over Christmas?

Yeah saw james over christmas, he was on the ball in that comp.
Trained with him over the summer, seriously needs to work on his shoulder strength but apart from that he's a great strong man.
And yes gem i've taken kindly to the one handed snatches ever since lads were sayin to me "paul o connel can do a 60kg one handed snatch" so i said i'd do it first try and did so Mla!!

I'm around the 132kg mark now, thought i'd loose weight ever since i started back the rugger but got bigger and a good bit leaner.
My workouts last anywhere form one hour to two hours sometimes if i'm goin hell for leather. In squats i try not to go below sets of 8 because my knees hurt alot under the pressure if i go deep for low reps with heavy weights.
I do 5x5 trainin in all major lifts apart for squats. Followed by alot of conditioniing work
