Hi I have only just started Hatha yoga but am really enjoying it despite my complete lack of fitness or flexibility. Is it possible at the ripe age of 40 to develop sufficient flexibility and strength to master some of the moves? Also can you recommend a good dvd? Thanks.

yes, I think it is possible but you need to practice regularly. The more often you practice, the better. If you only do yoga once a week, then progress will be slow, if you do it five or six times a week, you'll see fast progress and then you'll also really start seeing the mental and other health benefits.

I don't know any hatha dvds, but if you're interested in ashtanga I'd recommend john scott or david swenson's dvds. Esp the john scott one has different programmes depending on your level.
