First thing, look at your diet. Each meal should have a quality protein, a healthy fat and a green vegetable. Drop all the sugar and refined carbs and eat as much whole and unprocessed food as possible. Lots of oily fish, whole eggs, steak, chicken, lots and lots of green vegetables, some olive oil, nuts, seeds, fruit, wholegrains, dairy. Cut out all the biscuits and sweets, and reduce things like bread, pasta, box breakfast cereal and rice. Most people eat two or three portions of those at once without knowing it.

Start exercising. It doesn't really matter too much what you do as long as you do it. Walk as much as possible, be generally active, and make a point of doing something to get you sweating and your heart working hard. Also, do some resistance work. This could be weight lifting, but it could also be things like bodyweight squats and press-ups at home.
