    Lads,

I was looking around for a cheaper subscription offer for Xbox live, and this was the cheapest I found, few lads on avforums were vouching for them so took a chance and ordered the 12 month + 1 month free subscription for £26.99 works out around (29.76). So placed my order at 18.20 last night, paid using paypal (I let my credit card decide the exchange rate not paypal) and when I came home tonight I had an email with a scanned copy of the actual subscription card. Went down and entered the code and yippee I now expire next February. :D The link is as follows:-

On average about €60, and that's for 12 months.

    That is very cheap.

I have heard rumours that the 12+1 month codes work only if it's your first Live Gold subscription - otherwise you must settle for the 12 month one. Something to do with getting a bonus month free anyway.

Is this still the case? I notice on the site it's not called a 12+1 month subscription but a 13 month one (which I've never heard of before).

Great timing- was just going to order some codes from Play marketplace and that was at €43 for the 12+1. Means that I can now buy the two codes for the sons instead of debating about the cost. Thanks OP!

Not true I have used one after about 15months of paying by CC.

I picked up a 12 month subscription in Zavvi last week for €30, it was 50% off and the normal price was 60

well I had a gold account before and I bought the 13 month subscription and I would have expected it to say Jan 2009 to Jan 2010 if it had not accepted the 13 month but it comes up Jan 2009 to Feb 2010 so thats 13 months for me.

I got a 12month + 1 month free code off Jasper1675.com (works out more expensive that the OPs site) but it did work fine, and that was my 3rd year on Live.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,593 ✭✭✭theteal

why havent i seen a thread like this before?

i must apologise for knowing about these cheaper 12 + 1 month live vouchers for an awful long time and not mentioning in bargain alerts, i just assumed it was that widely known

you can get them from ebay, jasper (mentioned above) and several other online places, quite easy to find, the most you'll pay is €35 (i think micro$oft charge €70 for 12 months)

    apologies again

Jasper is more expensive at the moment (£2 Sterling more expensive), but hopefully the competition will drive down the prices, I didn't post before until I found a site that was actually cheaper then the rest. For the record and comparison purposes

    Jasper's site http://www.jasper1675.com/newuk12gold.html £28.99
Instant Live Codes http://www.instantlivecodes.com/ same price as Jasper £28.99
    buying gaming codes http://www.buygamingcodes.com/content/6-buy £26.99

I suppose prices may go up and down based on how much these crowds buy in bulk.

... But that's more expensive than this thread...

Anyway, Just new to the whole online gaming thing. So can i ask, if i have a 1 month subscription (which i bought the other day, just to see if i was gonna keep Live or not) can i still buy these codes and redeem them on my account now, or do i have to wait until my one month has expired first?

Its a moving target with these crowds, Instantlive have now put up their price by a pound to £29.99, Jasper are still 28.99 and the crowd I used have increased their price by a pound but are still the cheapest of the 3.

1 month free comes with your console, but as pointed out it all adds up.

ive bought from him before, top notch guy, got mine in about an hour after the sale, now i need another one ill be buying from him again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 247 ✭✭irishbigfoot

Plenty of postive feed back here for buygamingcodes so I presume my experience could have been an oversight on his part.
I had to email him after the 48 hours and the email with the card was finally there this morning. So more like 56 hours to get the code for me but it works without any problems and is defenitely a 12+1 code.

Would probably buy from him again since I still have another 12+1 code to get for another son but he is currently of of stock for the 12 and 12+1 cards without any indication of when they will be back in stock.

To those that have registered with this guy, he emails the codes to you, yes? So there's no need to give my real home address? ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 247 ✭✭irishbigfoot

Yep- he emails the codes to the address that you have used for Paypal but you do have to put in a physical address when registering...presumably he would accept the North pole as long as its filled in.

Used Jasper at weekend. Got code within an hour. Thanks a million

    Jasper's site http://www.jasper1675.com/newuk12gold.html £28.99
Instant Live Codes http://www.instantlivecodes.com/ same price as Jasper £28.99
    buying gaming codes http://www.buygamingcodes.com/content/6-buy £26.99
I'd definitely recommend Jasper - same price at the moment but worth the extra anyway as you get it instantly rather than a few hours later or the next day.
Avoid instantlivecodes - the "instant" part is a load of crap - they send you an instant e-mail to tell you there'll be a delay alright, which is pretty annoying given it's the central part of their sales pitch...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,177 ✭✭✭Lord Spence

Hi All, My prices on adverts.ie have now dropped to €30 for 12months sub or €35 for 15months. I have plenty of subs left. I will e-mail the codes to you after payment is recieved

Just reviving this to see if anyone knows what the current best deal is? Some of the above links seem to have no available stock, the chap in the previous post seems to be offering a decent deal also.

I'm looking for the cheapest option, don't mind having to wait a few days to get the code if needs be.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Latest pricing for 12 +1 Months Xbox Live subscription as of Thursday 12/3/2009
    http://www.instantlivecodes.com/subscriptions.html £29.99
http://www.buygamingcodes.com/content/6-buy £28.50 (says on site he will have stock Friday)
    http://www.jasper1675.com/newuk12gold.html £29.99

http://www.live-codes.com/ £28.99 (seen a few avforum users recommending him) and you get the codes within minutes once payment clears

All I can say is I'd wait till tomorrow to see if buyinggameingcode get stock back in tomorrow or live-codes.com might be worth a chance. Let us know who you go with and how long you have to wait for your code. Hope this helps :)

AVOID Instantlivecodes - they're dodgy as fook. Still haven't got my codes from them - no correspondence neither. Dod-geeeee.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,602 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

Thinking of buying one of these as I'm currently on one of my 3 free months with the console. They seem a bit dodgy by what people are saying so can anyone who had one work please describe how long it took etc.

My code went missing possibly getting caught in a spam filter but I couldn't find it in the spam folder. I ending up emailing buygamingcodes to find out what happen. They got back on to me fast after I emailed them and soon enough sent the code again. Great communication all the way through so I would recommend using them again.

went with jasper, time difference meant no chance of getting it immediately. him being asleep and all. but it still arrived in good time and worked fine.

    id buy off him again.

    in 13 months.

Lucky you. I'm still waiting for mine (over 2 weeks). Only 2 days til Paypal side with me and give me my money back, but I'd advise anyone else to avoid Instantlivecodes.

Theyre great! I bought off em and got an email immediately! Code worked fine! 13months for or €32 is a great deal and you get i immediately. Never again will I buy from a shop!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,026 ✭✭✭docdolittle

Game have the 12+1 for €40 now... considering I'd have to top up a 3v card to get one off one of these sites, I'd prob just get it in there. Afterall it would only be €5 in the difference and I wouldn't have to worry about not getting the code :D

What happens if my sub is usually automatically charged to my credit card?
If I buy a code and add it before my renewal will that be ok or will they try and bill my credit card too?

I heard I may have to ring to turn my automatic renewal off.

To be on the safe side I'd ring Microsoft and stop the automatic billing to your credit card, if they ask why say you bought a cheap renewal in Zavvi before they closed. I think I read somewhere that they will charge your card and add 12 months to your subscription if you don't ring.
