What compatible PVRs/DVRs are available that I can use with Panasonic TX-37LZD81 TV?

I will eventually buy the Panasonic TX-37LZD81 (the one with the freesat tuner) but here's the question...

As the TV already has all the tuners I need in it, how do I record onto a hard disk drive ( have been looking at a Panasonic DMR-EX88) any programme like I would with a say Sky+ box. I do want the functionality the includes pausing luive TV.

Does anyone know if this set-up will work without me having to watch the programme through the tuner on the DVR/PVR? Its basically the main reason for getting a TV with 3 tuners integrated into it! Also I think the PVR is only MPEG2 compatible though the tuner (Freeview). I'm hoping the TV with the MPEG4 will just transfer whatever file is needed to be written for pausing or recording TV.

I am open to suggestions of other models or brands that are compatible.
