Its kinda a spring with two handles. Works out your Forearm. I dont want to order it over the net. Just wondering if anyone knows a shop one might be purchased.

Mickk is a member here who sells them. This is his shop.

If you ring or email him you can arrange to pick them up in his gym in town to save on postage.

He said a while ago he was getting cheaper imitaion ones, these are top quality ones made by ironmind.

I use them just watching TV, they would be great for people stressed out sitting in traffic all day!

They are really hard to close, I got the latest ironmind magazine and there was a photo of one in the hand of a real gorilla! dunno if he closed it though...

These are in a whole different league than the standard ones. I have a different brand "heavy grips", I have a 200, 250, 300lb, I can only close the 200lb one. With all my weight resting on it I cannot close the 200lb. The COC ones ratings are much higher, i.e. I doubt I would close the 190lb COC. This is strongman and champion arm wrestler Magnus Samuelsson closing the number 4. His forearm is bigger than my thigh!

I have not noticed, not sure what it was before. I will measure since I think ages ago I did measure of some chart and might remember what it was. I do not wear a watch so have nothing to gauge by, forearms have certainly come along now and grip strength has improved a lot, I would certainly recommend them.

His postage is cheap enough, if you mail him you might get prices on the imitation ones if he has them, might just not be online yet.

So these Captains of Crush Grippers they are the best of the best in terms of hand grippers i have 2 different sets and thought i was doing great with mine can do 100 reps with each arm but after seeing that youtube clip im a bit dismayed,i must have crap ones so not that im your mans size far from it might invest in a set of these, where can they be got in Cork.

If I was getting ones now it would be the new John Brookfield ones. They have extensions so 1 gripper can replace several, and it is more versatile doing 2 hands at once etc.

I doubt you will get any decent grippers in normal shops.

I have metal tubes to fit over mine to lengthen them in a similar way. I am also thinking of making devices to make use of the spring power.

Most ones in regular stores are the equivalent of 0.5kg pink dumbbells. They are pretty useless, you can do repetitions all day long.

I find my extensions great, using them all the time now.

Was considering getting the 100 and 150lb COC's. I'm hoping they might have the added benefit of bringing up my bench as I find my forearms seem to get fatigued when benching. Would you have noticed any improvements in this area that you'd attribute to the grippers?

Dunno if you mean heavy grips (HG) or COC's.

A 140lb COC is harder to close than a HG150. They take the measurements in different areas.

Dunno how long you are training but the 100 of either would be quite light. I have the HG 200, 250 & 300. I can almost close the 250 now, they get weaker over time, a few mates have closed the 200 now, a lad has a loan of it and I reckon he is overusing it and weakening it more, when I got it first a few lads tried and could not close it.

Although I never bench press I have noticed lots of improvements from grip, on deadlifts it is no problem at all anymore, and much stronger on chinups/pullups.

If starting again I would get either the John Brookfield gripper or a COC No.3 and my extension tubes which in effect is a whole range of grippers, they also make negatives easy to do which is very useful. I wouldnt bother with the 100lb, you probably will quickly outgrow it.
