2, and I'd have 6 from Britain if they were cross-issuable.... all speeding; although it looks like the Irish ones may be invalid due to a non-existant speed limit order for the road (R449 dual carriageway, R road, would be 80 without a speed limit order and I was blipped at 77 in a 60. That I thought was an 80.).

    2

    Doing 69 in a 50

In my defense though that road should at least be a 60! :pac:

    It's the day you don't try you'll get caught. 51 in a 50 and all that ****

I have 6, 4 for speeding, 41 in a 30 on Commons Rd, 2 lanes of traffic, and 45 in a 30 in Water street, by the docks in Cork, also 2 lanes. Think I have 2 for mobile phone aswell. All 6 are in their third year so they'll be gone soon, still break stupid speed limits but I'm alot cuter as to where I can go a little bit quicker..

    None!

Only ones I'd get would be for speed, havent been caught out yet though.

Could have plenty but as every other department in this country they never updated their records when I moved house & forwarded details. A friend from Tullamore told me recently that he's actually achieved the full 12 points but all notification went to his old address. He only became aware when he went to renew his 10 year licence & was told he was officially off the road. As there was only 2 weeks left to serve he duly bit his lip & completed :pac: his suspension.

I had a close one today on the Rock Road, heading into town. Just past Blackrock College there's a bus shelter on the left, three of them in it with a handheld laser unit, I was doing at least 80km/h when I saw them. They waved me in, I pulled in, got out of the car, went over to the nearest Guard. He told me they were pulling the car behind me...

Same here. Before the peno points I've had one fixed camera fine for doing 88mph on a completely empty M1 near Dundalk at midnight in '01

And another one by a Talivan on the N2 between the M50 an Finglas village doing 60km/h in a 50km/h zone back in '02

I've never been penalised for any of the times I drove over 200km/h in this country

Caught speeding on the N2 a few years ago but never received points :p

Should be realistically on point number 6 - 8 at the moment but remain at an even 0, thanks to a few countermeasures ;)

2 for speeding, really stupid actually because i am not normally heavy footed, but this guy in a copper coloured Primera was tale-gating me, then as i passed out a car in front he tale-gated me as i was over taking. It really annoyed me so i put my foot down as i wanted to put some daylight between us.

I should have just ignored him, but i goddamn hate people driving that close to me!

I have no points as I obey the law.

mind you I heard one lad got done for doing 52 km/hr in a 50 km zone before so could happen anytime with a very strict guard

4 -> 2 for doing 140 in an 80 & 2 for 95 in a 50. bold me. bold bold bold. Not driving "fast" again until all points are gone (or at least down to 2). *sniff*.

3 points- Doing 99mph in a 70mph motorway outside Belfast. Over 100mph and I probably would have lost my licence!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,258 ✭✭✭✭Rabies

    2.

    82km/hr in a 80 zone on the N11.

What makes it worse is a glanza sped passed me doing at least 100 and wasn't stopped. Now I'm not sure what's worse him not getting caught or that he was able to pass me out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 376 ✭✭dos30

4 points. 2 for speeding and 2 for overtaking on a continuous white line.
It's the most sickening feeling when you get caught.

Jesus! that seems harsh! Where was this?

None for me, but I'm usually very careful driving through towns etc. I just set the cruise control to 55 and sit on my right leg:)
