Hey so basically im 21, female looking for advice on my workout.

Im just looking for a good overall weights program to complement my gym workout.

Ive stayed away from weights after i gave up athletics and rowing but i would like to work it back int o my workout as cardio etc alone is not effective.

My weekly workout looks like this:

    Mon:Spinning

    Wed:30 mins run 70% heart-rate
    2000 m ergo split 2.04 ish
    10 mins cros trainer

Thurs: Swimming. 1 hour varied sessions

Sat: 6K jog/run out of gym (hate running but i feel i have to do it for an effective workout)

im basically looking for a good weights workout to do maybe twice a week..I just dont know where to start with regards machines, reps and weight.

My stats: 21, 5'7, 10.5 stone looking to drop to 9. BMI around 24

Bear in mind if you lift you will build dense muscle weight so your BMI could be high. I am technically overweight by BMI standards, but I am "ideal" using other forumlas using waist measurement. One woman g'em who posts here might be technically obese using BMI, yet I think is around a size 12.

Also have a look at some of the female fitness logs above - especially lindak and green athene - i always pick up some good exercises / ideas from them.
