Anyone studied Applied Psychology in UCC?

    I'm planning on applying over the next few days as a mature student (25 yr old). I have a background in entertainment and news journalism and have only studied at FETAC level (St John's Applied Science with Animal Care - I finished with 7 distinctions). I'm just looking for a bit of advice:

    Is there anything I can include on my CAO app to increase my chances?
    Recommended texts to read?
    Has anyone applied to this course as a mature student...if so what's the interview like etc...
    What's the course like?
