Dear Boardies,

BOARDIES EXCLUSIVE!

we are clearing a selection of top end OPEN BOX TV's from The Philips Shop - on a Boardies exclusive deal on Sunday evening at 9 PM - on a 1st come 1st served basis. This will be online and on this Thread only - not instore!

As some of you will know from our open box sales there are some great bargains to be had - this OPEN BOX sale is no exception with most of the TV's at 1/2 price or less - however please be aware they they are mainly top end kit!

We are a little more organised than our last open box sale! There are about 20 top end items available - they are all in Dublin already, fully tested and all ready for collection or Delivery from Monday 19th January

We will post the full list here at 9PM sharp on Sunday night and each TV has an item reference - the 1st boardie to reply in public (no PM's allowed!) specifying a particular item will have that item reserved for them at the price shown - if they decide not to proceed with their purchase we will offer it to the next boardie who offered on that item.

All TV's will be covered by a full 12 month warranty.

Guys as posted these are all top end TV's - but they start at €599 for a really top end Ambilight plasma which did retail at over €2700.

The most expensive set we have on offer is a brand new boxed 52", Full HD, Perfect Pixel, Ambilight 2 TV which we will offer at €2299.95 reduced from €3999.

There are also lots in the middle!

Hi Guys,

I don't know if any of you have ever visited teh Philips Shop - but it's a bit of a different beast to Richer Sounds - no bustle - no rush, no stacks of product - just calm ...and nice displays with Philips Anoraks who know everything about all things Philips and who really care about the product presentation - that's a long winded way of saying that this product will all be in excellent condition - any marks will be noted on the description as posted and most are boxed with all their accessories - most are ex-demo - there is only 1 ex-repair unit and it is suitably filthy cheap!

All original pricing will be shown on the description as well as a very brief spec.

If I were to give you one hint I would have a look at last seasons Philips 7 & 9 series top end TV's - the best website is www.p4c.philips.com.

Philips shop is just around the corner from my office and I've been in and out a few times. All the display stuff is up mainly on the wall and in the windows so I'd say the the stuff is pretty mint!

yep thanks again for that - they are actually a bit freaky about the stock in the Philips Shop - I wish we had the same time in Richer!

The list when it comes out will list any marks on the stock and EVERYTHING will be sold on the basis of a 7 day refund if not delighted (as well as the standard 12 month warranty of course!)

no problem with the queries whatsoever - keep them coming!

No the majority of the TV's on offer are LCD's but there are a few Plasmas as well - most of the TV's are 37" and above - there are no small screens (under 32") to clear at the moment.

Another query I have had was delivery - we will do Delivery free of charge in the greater Dublin area on any of the TV's in the sale - outside Dublin we will deliver country wide at the Boardies special rate of just €21.99

Afraid not! They are all 'D' models - but they should all leave you with enough over to buy a separate MPEG4 settop receiver!

The Philips Shop open Box Sale – January 2009

Thank you for your interest in our open box sale. We have a selection of top end TV’s available at really reduced pricing exclusively for Boardies.

These TV’s are almost all ex-display from The Philips Shop, 19-22 Dame Street, Dublin 2 - they are generally in excellent condition and are all fully guaranteed for 12 months.

All TV’s have been fully tested and are ready for dispatch or collection from The Philips Shop.

Terms and Conditions

• All goods are available on a first come first served basis only, goods cannot be reserved.
• Goods are available to Boardies who post on this forum only - goods will not be held over the phone.
• A maximum of 1 item is available to each Customer - there can be no exceptions to this rule - otherwise the Guy at the back of the Queue gets nothing!
• You can ask for a further discount – but we already make a huge loss on our open box sales and we get sensitive when people try to eat into what’s left of our pension fund – and the 1st guy who offers the asking price gets the deal!
• If the goods are in any way unsuitable, or do not work for any reason, we offer a 7 day refund or exchange at the Customers discretion from the date of receipt – any goods to be returned have to be returned at the Boardies own cost.
• Any refunds will be made by cheque only from our head office - this may take up to 7 working days to reach you - we will not process any instore cash refunds.
• The ‘Was €’ prices refer to the recommended retail prices, the original retail price or the typical going price in the period we have sold the product - we have attempted to err on the side of caution however it is intended as a guide only.
• The warranty period is standard 1 year – in the event of a fault we will only refund the actual price paid – not the original sale price.
• To get a product please just post on this forum – we will contact you over the next 24 hours by PM
• We will not release goods unless you have posted publically1st!

You can call us tomorrow at the office on 01.843.9231 or call The Philips Shop01.474.0788 from 10am in the morning and we will take your Credit Card details or of course you can pop into the shop (The Philisp Shop - 19-22 Dame Street, Dublin 2)and use that old folding stuff we all used to have!
