Glad to hear you got in dude! You've been quite the inspiration on this at times when needed most. Happy to be a blue with you.

Glad to have been a help. Inspiration is probably a bit strong though. :)

I just can't wait to get started now. 3 years getting to this stage and it's only the beginning.

Ah ya see 3 years of trying and determination, that qualifies as inspiring in my books.

Anyways, im writing my resignation letter as we speak! Woo hoo!

Aye, it takes about a week or so. I'll only really start believing it on Monday at my SRD!!

What does Mrs Carlty think? Is she happy about it??

She's thrilled for me. Terrified about spending four weeks without me (who'd blame her :D), but she know's how much I want this and she'd support me in anything. One of the (many) reasons I love her.

Any ideas when we can expect to get the information packs? As soon as I get mine, the acceptance form will be posted off and my notice left on my boss's desk.

Mine came within 3 or 4 days. Got the call on a Monday and had it by the end of the week. There's a lot of info in it and you won't take it in on the first read, because you'll be too damn excited!! (As I was).

So have a couple of reads at it.

The lovely lady on the phone said they would be out in the next few days. I'll assume either Saturday or Monday. Would you recommend waiting for those before handing in the old notice?

Naaaahhhhh. Unless you lose the plot and murder someone in the next few days you're safe enough.

Unless "the call" was a prank from your mates.....

(Sorry, that was cruel, but I couldn't resist!) :D:D

You dont have to live in the first 4 weeks if you dont want to... if you live close enough to travel home you can sign out every evening and go. Just tell them on the first day. The just need to know who is in and who is out in case of fire drills etc.

    Cheers for that.

While, it may be a break to the normal family life, I feel that I'd be putting myself at a disadvantage by not joining in with the rest of the team for the 4 weeks residential.

I'll be home at weekends.

I hope to see some more calls for boardies. I want us to outnumber non-boardies come 8 March. :D

Not that I don't believe you but why then do they say that the first 4 weeks only is residential and then after that you can just travel?

Maybe its cos you only get the option to stay the first 4 weeks if you want to??

Just a random question got me wondering :)

It is residential, but its not compulsary... if you want to go home any night you just sign out and go but you inform the orderly first. As long as you are in on time next day of course. The rooms are rubbish and too small, I just told them I needed a proper nights sleep and was off home. Its not a prison.

That is so good to know. I have young children and have been worried how they (and their dad lol) would cope all week without seeing me should I ever get a start. It would make a big difference to be able to go home just one night during the week. So, thanks for that :o

I think I'll probably stay every week-night. If I've got work to do i would never get it done at home. Might sneak up to my fella's on my birthday though, he's not far away. :)

There in no doubt I will be staying for the full 4 weeks, I think it is part of the experience.

Can't wait to get my letter through so I can start learning everything.

    I got the call!!

Well... I THINK it was 'the call' lol.

I got left a message from a lady from external appointments who asked me ring her 'regarding my application', but I was floored with the flu and didnt get around to rining back until half 4! by which time they'd all gone home.

Have to wait til monday now :(:(

    But it looks promising.
