Hi, Anyone know where I can get these guys(www.ironmaster.com/store/Quick-Lock-Dumbell-System-75-lb-set-with-Rack-pr-2.html) in Ireland! They have a distributor (valley fitness) in the UK but they do not ship to Ireland.

I was looking at all reviews on these type dumbells, powerblocks, bowflex and macy transformer dumbells and the iron masters seem to have the best reviews, although powerblocks are a good option also. I know they are expensive but they work out a whole lot cheaper then a full set and you dont need as much room!

    Any advice would be appreciated!

$489 for 68kg of weights  reading it I am unsure if both are 75lb or just 75lb can be loaded onto it, so it could be as low as 34kg.

You could get a full 140kg oly set with oly bar and buy separate dumbells for a lot less than that! and have money left over for plenty of extra plates & other stuff.

    Cheers Rub!

I actually have just got a 140kg oly set already! My brain must be dead to be honest! I see these nice dumbell things , I like the ease of use etc and just dont think that I could utilise what I already got! All I need is proper dumbell bar to hold the oly weights I already have! Cheers again!

Is this the one i need for oly plates

Yeah looks like a terrible deal, paying way over the odds for basically the same thing as regular dumbbells.

Those are thick bar ones. These are the standard ones http://www.irish-lifting.com/product_info_equipment.php?cPath=1_9&products_id=229
which should be the same thickness as your barbell.

I am wrapping a small towel around my standard dumbbell handles these days to make a thick bar, the towel also makes it compressible, I much prefer it, but would definitely go for normal dumbbell handles, as you could just stick the towel on if you wanted thick ones.

You can get by with just one dumbbell, just do one hand and switch over between sets. I have 2 handles but just use one, I find I can work better focusing on one arm at a time. I also do negatives by assisting the weight up with my free hand. I did assisted negative bicep curls the other day, first time in months. 3 days on and I still have DOMs!

I also expect the oly ones would have a far better feel than the dear ones.
