    Hi all, im new to taking supplements and i just picked up some Pro Power Pure Creatine Monohydrate and Pro Power weight gainer from Argos on sale. Firstly it says i should only take 1 teaspoon (3-5g) of the pure creatine per day and dont exceed that but then ive read for your first week you should be taking (20-30g). Is this true? ive already noticed my strenght has improved when im benching and ive already moved up to much heavier weights i bought. Also will the weight gainer actually work for me? im a pretty commited guy and i'll always try work out every morning for 1 hour so i will put the work in! im just under 6ft and weigh between 11.5 and 12 stone and ive already noticed im closer now to 12stone..im looking to move up to around 12.5 stone. Any advice on the creatine at all would be welcome! ive upped my weights and ive all ready noticed some improvent but im still very new to supplements and any advice would be great thanks!

    For starters I wouldnt wouldn't buy any products from Argos and secondly you have answered your own question in your post i.e. if you take 5g per day for six days this will give you your 30g anyway just keep taking 5g per day everyday even your non training days

    Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I actually meant to say that i've read that for the first week you should take (20 - 30 g) PER DAY. Is this rubbish or true?

    Loading isn't completely necessary, some people do take that 20 or 30g a day for the first week, some don't. It won't not work if you don't load, so perhaps try without this time, and later in year maybe try loading to see if there's a difference.

    The increased dosage first week is called the loading phase and is correct.

    Now someone stop me if i'm wrong here but your muscles can only hold a certain amount of creatine and any more is going to be excreted back out. The loading phase is supposed to take your muscles to their maximum saturation before dropping the dosage to maintain from then. (very over simplified explanation sorry :o)

    Some people don't bother with the loading phase at all.

    Ahh...ok thanks for both your replies. I think i'll just take the advised amount of 5g per day and slowly build as im in no rush and its mainly to get in top top shape for the summer (4months away) so the t-shirts look better on!. Is the Argos stuff really that worse than other stuff! its got all the stamps and approvals on it!

    Thing with argos is you dont know how long the stuff is sitting in a dusty storeroom, I wouldnt trust them for any food products in general not just supplement stuff. They're also probably much more expensive than you would find elsewhere.

    Does the supplement factory do their own brand creatine ? A lot of boards readers use or have used their products (myself included).

The other question i asked earlier was will the weight gainer actually work for and when will i notice it! i got the strawberry flavour and mixed it in with a big cup of milk and i surprsingly found that it tasted really good! i've got a really fast matabolism and have never really put on weight in my life ...anyway will the weight gainer actually work and put weight on in the right areas or as i read in other places i hear it can put on love handles??

    The creatine you can add to anyrthing from water to orange jusice just a table spoon if its the same stuff. Mine does not taste at all so its easy to swallow. The weight gainer is 6 big table spoons and is actually quite nice with milk. they use 300ml of milk if you dont have a measuring cup its a mug (coffee/tea cup normal size) and 1/4 of milk then mix well put in a big glass, i found it actually quite tasty some im real happy, i picke dup 4 x 5kg weight from argos for €30 reduced which is really good, i can now icrease my weightd from 15 kg right up to 22.5kg which is exactly what i wanted ive dropped the 15 now and im using 17kg 19kg then 20 kg in my sets and im already noticing a difference.:)
