Now all I have to do is wait for the rest of the bits to arrive... only downside is the brakes are very long reach, and the frame doesn't need it, so it's back to the drawing board brake wise :(

Lovely.... where did you pick up the frame... I yearn for something like this.

An incredibly nice Boardsie by the name of itsfixed offered it to me after I made a throw away remark about wanting such a frame.... it pays to yearn openly about such things!

Oh I wish I wish someone had a 58cm steel frame they are willing to part with :)
    Seriously

I have been looking on eBay for an Old Ladies peugeot bikes I could either restore or turn it to fixed to see how it looks :) Loads of them but it's hard to find small sizes.

    Guys,
Look here... or at anyone of the recycling centres -- there's always something. I'll slip down again today and see what I can find.... :-) Here's praying for a Colnago 54cm Track or Racing Bike..... paint condition unimportant...

I git a Alu frame there last week for nothing -- its not the best but its really just a holder for my components till I buy a real frame ;-)

I shall check at home. We had one in the back garden at one point, it could be in a state

Very tasty. The owner of Romano's restaurant in Capel st has a very nice maroon Mercian frame on display. Its a shame really to have frames on display when they could be used.
Have asked about it, but its apparently not for sale.
Anyway, to continue the yearnings - I really would like to build u my own classic Mercian, if only I had a frame:D.

I fell Tiny should be ejected from the forum for show-boating. Surely its not acceptable to post images half way through a project but because CRC, Wiggle, eBay, ProbikeBikeKit,the list goes on... didn't have in stock the items they said they did and so are slow to ship making tiny's feet itchy to show off...... actually this should be called premature showing off... Does this now mean tiny that you can't post the finished article cause its old news?

I'm happy to retract all comments made in this post in exchange for a free steel cycle.

Yeah, Romano is well into his cycling. The restaurant is worth a visit. Good food too.

How did you know I've brought bits from all the above (and more!)

I think it's ok to post the continuing build, cos I'm... er.... polishing the frame atm, so the bits aren't entirely necessary yet...

Oh, and it's t'internet -home of showboating so nyer nyer :P

Oh. in that case ...My free Alu bike -- sorry frame only at this stage primed and ready.

Tony, on your ring around finding out about your items, please call Dave Hinde and find out about my custom built campy wheels. Its been 24 hours and nothing.

Thanks for that, but I have my mind set on a peugeot frame, something like this
I wouldn't be starting anything just yet though, as I am putting together my future track winning machine!!! ( missing a few bolts and stuff right now ... )

Nice bikes Karma, especially that colnago. Are my eyes going bad or is that some funky lacing pattern for the spokes you've got??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,106 ✭✭✭Karma

snowflake pattern. dave in cyclogical did it. no longer on the bike, here is the updated pic.

I like that colnago ( not just because it belong to another French girl who obviously has great tastes ) ... the spokes pattern, I am not too fond off.

    img0n17995.jpg

There's definitely one in the back garden, just like that, but I have a suspicious feeling that there are rust holes in the frame.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,106 ✭✭✭Karma

check the last pics up- new wheels- proflex or something- big P on the hubs and red.
Colnago master- art decor. not cheap but worth it.
may have a 103carbolite peugeot 52cm with original frok in white with blue writing, british thread(not the french thread as we found on another bike-Stabiniski70's) will know by tomorrow...

This is what I have done to my old bowery. I painted it Cadbury purple ( the colour does not really show on the photo ... ). I am not really done with it yet. I need proper chrome seatpost and stem, get a nice new saddle, and change the drops to something a little less ... pink. ( these bars belong to my other back fixie that ) - the coulour is better on the 2nd photo ( my 2 fixies together ) - I will keep the purple one for the track.
