Using Rapidshare with 3pay mobile broadband

    Just a tip/pondering.

I don't know if those dastardly scumbags 3 have put a sort of ban on rapidshare, but usually (I think always) rapidshare links wont work for me on my 3pay baoadband. The page simply doesn't load.

Using a proxy such as "hidemyass" doesnt work.

One solution which seems to work, is to type in something like "rs25.", or "rs26." in the address.

    i.e, turn
    http://rapidshare.com/files/blahblahblah
    into
    http://rs151.rapidshare.com/files/blahblahblah

    and then try it..

Maybe someone else has an explanation for this.

I don't believe they banned it, its just Three have a limited pool of IP addresses so if there used up rapidshare won't allow other people to access its site/service

    Moved to midband forum!

On RAPIDshare non premium accounts they have restrictions with regards to downloading. These are measured by measuring the amount downloaded through your IP address. As Three have only one IP everyone has the same IP so only one person can use it out of all three's at any one time.

Thanks for the reply guys. Still doesn't explain why some rapidshare links which I get from other sites, will ONLY work if I put in "rs(number)." after the "http://" bit.
