Is it just me or has anyone else put on sh1t loads of weight since Christmas??

After nearly eating myself to death on Christmas day, I continued and am only short of needing a crane company to lift me out of the house via the sitting room window.

I hope everyone else in work has gotten fat too cos then I won't be so embarrassed going into work tomorrow..

Damn you tuc crackers, pate, array of delicious cheeses, roses sweets, pints of beer, pringles, dips etc.

It's elasticated city for me til I lose my 3 bellies.

Am I the only one that's put on LOADS of weight over Christmas. Lie if you have to. ha ha

A bottle of West Coast Cooler and a box of Milk Tray chocolates...that was before breakfast on Christmas Day. :pac:

Well, no, not really. But, hey, over indulgence is what Christmas is for.

I had the flu for most of the holidays, and could eat f*ck all. Was housebound and therefore only had 7 pints over the whole holiday period and have lost nearly a stone. I hope I work with you without knowing it!

Is it a nutty one or a minty one?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,202 ✭✭✭✭Pherekydes

I put on 5 lbs in December.

I'm already down 3 in January. And I've been too ill to train.

Just get the diet back to normal.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

And exercise. I ate what I wanted over Christmas but didn't put on any weight thanks to exercise.

Don't bother with that, just eat them more often or something.

    Nutty.

I wish they could combine the nut and mint into a super-cornetto.

I did well for several days coming up to and after the Christmas. Unfortunately, the last few days it all went horribly wrong. At least now all the chocolate is gone. Sadly, I gonned it :(

Stayed the same somehow. I ate a load of crap food but I guess I offset that with the amount of bodyboarding I did. Two hours or so of that every second day is a great little work out!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 649 ✭✭✭Peewee_lane

Yesterday, I momentously bought a size bigger jeans because I coudnt fit into anything else.

Godammit. If only I had a cornetto... that would be the solution to ALL my problems!

Irrelevant. It's clear nothing else has worked so it's obviously your only choice. Time to perform miracles my good man.

I too have joined the glorious ranks of those who put on weight - but it's christmas, it's what it's all about.

Shall all be coming off over the next three months though!

    Excellent advice there, my friend.

can have up to 1.2kg fluctuations depending on the sp.den.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,564 ✭✭✭✭whiskeyman

Everyone puts on weight over Christmas... it's like a hibernation period.
Since many people got paid earlier than normal in Dec, it's likely many simply won't be able to afford to eat coming up to the last week in January, thus allowing to burn off stored fatty goodness to survive this lean period.

    Thats a load of sh!te :D

I put on shed loads over December.
And now it is all one because of this stupid arse flu.
I can't keep food down, or stay awake for longer than 2 hours and my sleep is terrifying thanks to fecked up Beneylin for flu dreams.
And my face is numb! What is that about like!

So count yourself lucky to still have your christmas fat arse!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,367 ✭✭✭✭watna

Another fatty here. I had to go out and buy a new bra today because I've gone up another cup size, and no, that's not a good thing, and no, there will be no pics. I felt awful in the bra shop, like a real fatty fatty fat fat.

Luckily it is summer here so it's light until about nine. Need to do some exercising so can go for a run etc. not so luckily the house is still full of junk food which I'm ploughing my way through in an effort to make it all go away so I can start eating healthily again, also the party season doesn't end, it being the height of summer and hot so there's loads of bbqs and things to go to.

Life is hard - now who wants some of the coconut chocolate I'm eating?

I ate a load of crap over xmas, dont think I put anything on though.
Although I am now well and truely sick of food. Im sick of eating, I feel like I could go days without eating since I ate so much before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,928 ✭✭✭✭rainbow kirby

Put on 3lbs over Christmas, 2lbs are already gone. \o/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,378 ✭✭✭Borneo Fnctn

Yeah i put on some pounds over Christmas. Got a pervert belly going on now actually.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,802 ✭✭✭beks101

Put on half a stone that I worked so hard to lose. Goddammit. What is it with Christmas and the need to eat everything within a metre radius of you??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,817 ✭✭✭✭Dord

I don't have a weighing scales so I don't know how much I weight I put on. It's probably a good thing tbh. I ate way too much over xmas. :(

I think I put on about 4 lbs, which, considering the amount of food I actually ate is not too bad really. It was bread though, I ate soooo much bread, turkey sambos, toast with my mams homemade pate, more turkey sambos. Haven't been back to the gym yet - I'm scared :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,130 ✭✭✭Azureus

i think i put on a pound or two.. considering the amount i ate thats not half bad! probably the drinks that did it anyways!
although i can fluctuate between bout 8st 8 - 9st in the space of two days! how the hell does that work?! and its not just my scales! :o

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭TerrorFirmer

I've eaten a ton of food yes, but all the free time also means I get to work out a lot more. So I haven't really gained any weight, despite some horrific binges.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 590 ✭✭✭bman

Lost about 5-6 lb over Christmas. No flu.

Bit annoyed though as I'm trying to put on weight at the moment. Did a lot of running though so sure that's what it was.
