Well im a waiter so I gotta lot of things I hate about my job....
    Heres a few
-Children who eat like apes and spill their food and drinks all over the floor, their chairs and the table and manage to get up and mess up every table nearby.
-Snobby @sses who think they are the only people that have to "work for a living"
    -Impatient people
-French people(Ask any waiter why and they'll tell you :D)
    -The kitchen staff
-Nice people who quickly become the biggest annoyance of your day by thinking its appropriate to have a full blown conversation with you when the place is packed and you have another thousand things to do(Thats not to say I dont like these people but bad timing)

I could keep going on and on

What does everyone else hate about their job?

Office and I hate people who shout when on the phone
They're not being agressive and they could be discussing something boring but they insist on shouting so everyone can hear?

    Self-important?
    Attention seeker?
    Afraid we won't notice them?

I don't realy know what the reason is, I suspect there is a bit of attention seeking going on. Now STFU!
I hate not having one. :(

Chip up, a new year so new possibilities for you hopefully

I hate not having one. :(
At least the hours are good.

Not the worst thing but one of the annoying things about my job is that the closest places that have food are KFC, McDonalds and Pizza Hut. My hearts gonna explode by the time I'm 25.

Working a 40 hour week every week and getting paid 3 euro an hour.
Its hard going. I'd be better off on the dole at home.

You'd be better off looking down the back of the couch a couple of times a week. Seriously though, that sucks ass. Why do you earn so little?

It's not the job I particularly dislike, it's just some of the people. I'm a sales assistant in a very busy shop and some people are just insanely rude and ungrateful. Most folks are nice, but others are just plain ignorant.

Im the same but its more variable, I live off tips, one week its good, one week its bad, one week its great etc etc.
Need i remind you about the "Do you tip?"thread we had a few months back.:D

Like most other jobs where you deal with the public

Not self employed. Im an intern in lufthansa. Its considered part of my college schedule.

But its 8 months of scrabbling for cash.

Then again give it 2 years and i hopefully should be on proper money working as an actual engineer.

I feel for you, buddy. I'm in the same boat myself. You could be having a great day and you just get one of those customers that just leave you in a foul mood for the rest of the day/week. Complete pain in the ass.

The worst thing about my job is that my boss has recently brought in a strict no killing policy. Apparently, killing customers reflects badly on the company or something. :D

I understand exactly what you mean, I used to have a job like that until I went back to college this year. That's why, whenever I'm dealing with a sales assistant as a customer, I go out of my way to be as rude and ungrateful as possible just so they to could hate their job and have the courage to quit and improve their lives. I consider that my gift to the world.

    You're welcome world.

Sales is a crap job indeed. People actually think it's your fault that the shop doesn't have your size in a top/jeans, whatever. Oh, I'm sorry, would you like me to pull out a sewing machine and make you one myself?! Go away!

I used to be a waiter too.

Hate the fact if something is wrong with the food its your fault.Got so pissed off with a women after she sent the food back 3 times and giving out to me about it,asking me how does your mother make it.I said you go back the the ****ing chef with it and tell him.It worked too:mad:

Or when people say the food is rotten and dont want to pay for it even though they have eaten the whole lot.Cheap b*****ds:mad:

Was working part time on petrol pumps for a year, they got a new full time lad, older fella, complete ass.He got the manager to double up on the shifts, said he couldent handle all the customers,I had to work 9 hour days on ****e wages with nothing to do and was stuck with an ass who thought he was more important than me because he was full time.On top of that the posh w**kers who would sit in their cars refusing to fill their own petrol when you where busy with another customer then give out when you eventually come over to them!

    f*cking everything.

office politics and lick arses are the worst though.

I hate the practice of "mushroom management" that takes place where I am, basically the "manager" deliberately keeps us un-informed and mis-informed.... he feeds us **** and keeps us in the dark.

But all his bosses think he's great, he's the go-to guy... why? because he will not share ANY knowledge!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,594 ✭✭✭Maddison

    The Job: Reception

    Reasons to hate it:
    1. 8 hours sitting at a desk getting fatter by the day
    2. New ban they have brought in, no internet use for non business purposes....ehhhh what am I suppose to do when Ive done all my work & other bits Ive found to keep me amused & Ive still 6.5 hours of my shift left??
    3. Cliques(sp) little pally groups which include some management & some staff that tattle tale & ruin working relationships.
    4. Did I mention not being allowed use the internet(although Im doing that now)
    5. Watching our sister company being brought in here for Christmas lunch & being given their fat envelopes, while we didnt get so much as a ''thank you for your work throughout the year''.
    6. Loads of other stuff that I cant be bothered mentioning because Im lucky to have a job the way the country is going.

Why do employers expect their employees to go above & beyond their roles yet dont give them any sort of thanks.....Its not that difficult to say ''thanks'' is it?

    Rant over.......Rar!

Before anyone comments on the whole thanks issue...I know Im paid to do my job but Im only paid to do 40 hours....its when Im going over those hours & not getting paid for it, yes I do expect some sort of thanks.

    no appreciation

my manager had a go 2 days ago about not utilising the right hand side of my desk properly, the fckin desk is 6ft long, didn't address appaling lack of staff and the fact that we usually have to buy our own office stationary cause the hotel is so tight arsed.

Total David Brent and Gareth moment.

The weird shift pattern although i get loads of time off.

I am in College studying Business and Management. I work part time in a call centre my boss is the same age as I am. She studied for a year as a beauty therapist. How very dare she tell me that she know best.

"I am the manager here, I think I know what I am talking about"

If the fu*king question was what shade of nails she should go, fine it wouldnt bother me. She has her little clique too that everyone hates. I've luckily learned to keep my head down and not ruffle any feathers because know that they are looking to get rid of people to cut costs. In my opinion, my manager should be the first to go. Oh did I mention she is ugly as sin too? She looks like a slid-in ****e.

Wow, its true, venting on the internet does make ya feel better...

The only thing I hate about my job is that it might not be there much longer. Other than that I'm happy in what I do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 128 ✭✭Mr Ed

I'm fed up with dealing with idiots who won't read the information we distribute properly, if they did, they wouldn't be calling.

I'm also fed up with working well above the hours I'm paid to do, having to go to evening meeting for no additional money and having to work some weekends for no additional pay.

Very pissed off with it all and on top of it all, I didn't even get a thank you from anyone in the company.

Work in retail main hates are.

1- People coming in with only 5 minutes to closing and demanding the sun moon and stars not to mention destroying the display you've just broken your back trying to fix.

2- Annoying managers who couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery.

3- Stuck up poshies who insist on looking down on you just because you have to work for a living.

4- Shoite music being constantly blared 24/7.

5- Cuunts robbing stuff from the shop and you getting the blame for it.

Used to work as a bartender while in college and hated my GM because of the way he treated staff, not even a thank you for working 14 hour shifts during christmas.

Got a management position on Cape Cod starting in March so I walked out on this job and told my manager 'feck ya and your ma twice'. Not the best thing to say but I'd had enough.

    the understaffing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,129 ✭✭✭Nightwish

I work for the HSE, so I'm generally hated by everyone.

    *Shocking understaffing
    *No paid overtime
*Listening to Today FM/2FM all day
*Dealing with certain grades of staff who treat me like sh!t because I'm in admin
*Dealing with layers and layers of beaurocacy that exists in the HSE

Don't look at how much do you get/spend but what is the quality of your life. Can you afford your own car/apartment/outs and would you be able to afford them in Ireland doing same job.

+ language benefits. Germany exports more than United States and German language gives you free access to this giant market.

    That's what I think.
