For me, it has to be "chicken". As in, "How are you feelin, chicken?" Shudder.
No human should be allowed call another human any kind of animal. "Horse" - that's another. Drrr. Makes my blood boil.

Chicken is alright to be honest. But horse is just stupid (unless its a comparison to the size of my cock)

Pet. I can only stand my mam calling me pet. No one else. I feel like the person calling me pet should be patting me on the head at the same time.

Could never see the logic in the French referring to a loved one as a "little cabbage", when I think that it should really mean that someone is as thick as a brick.

    Me auld flower

    Pet

Luv [because any of them say it you know in their heads they're spelling it that way]

    Son [My parents are DEEEAAAD!]

Most endearing term I've ever used was f**kbreath. Seemed to go down well with her at the time... it was probably annoying though. :D

Oh that reminds me. Its never ok to say "good girl" to a girl over 12. Extremely condescending!

Definately. I actually pulled an extremely p*ssed off face once when someone said that to me and the other men around said "She's some girl."

I'd say chicken, luv and petal are the most painful to her though.

When I first met the OH, he actually called me chicken after our 6th or so date, I knocked it on the head then.:o

Mate of mine (who is younger than me and Im 24) calls everyone "kid". I use dude a lot as non-specific. A friend used to say it the whole time and I started repeating it as a piss take but it stuck :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,815 ✭✭✭✭galwayrush

Whatever term is used, i think it sounds way worse when there is a large age difference between the couple.
25 year old calling their 65 year old partner.... Honey Pie

One casual date called me 'little lady'. I'm just under six feet tall.

'Precious' was another one, it was a bit irritating because I felt it implied I was sort of frail...
