Well it's practically that time of the year and majority of them will be health related, so what's yours?
Personally I am in the middle of trying to open up a new place and my resolution is to have it flying high by the end of the year.
Oh and to deadlift 2.5times bodyweight ... just for funsies ;)

Make sure I pass all my exams for semester two, then whatever repeats I have from semester one to knock 'em down :D

Do well in my masters, fully rehab my back and make sure I don't **** it up again. Cautious resolutions, but after a few months I'll know better if I can aim for something better.

I’m going to make a serious attempt at getting big this year (well over the next 5-10 or so years) my aim is to go over the 20 stone mark at sub 10% bf ,ok I know it’s a lofty goal but it’s my goal and I am aiming for it :D

No resolutions as I normally forget what it was after a week.

I hope to keep the focus needed to train for an olympic distance triathlon in order to complete it in a respectable time.

    That's all I want.

Oh... and perhaps for the swimming pool to have less breaststroking slow coaches in every lane during January.

Working towards being able to run over 10K by end of April.

Reduce bf by end of February.

Increase bw by about 10kgs between March and August, mostly of muscle.

First two should be easy enough.

No idea if putting on 10kgs of muscle is possible in 6 months though...

This thread really highlights where peoples heads are at in relation to training, and to be honest it's unfortunate.

Not having a go here matey at all. Have a look at the glaring contradictions in your plans.
    - Reducing BF by Feb, but you want to add 10KG's of muscle at more or less the same time. It just won't happen, unless your dexter Jackson. 10kg's of muscle and good lean muscle will take about 2 years and dam DAM hard work.

Somebody else posted about having a goal of being 20 stone and being under 10% BF. Put this into context. Jay Cutler weighs 19.5 stone when he's on stage with a BF in and around 6%. So somebody wants to be in better shape than Jay Cutler, in 12 months.

I'm not being a smarty pants, but I'm a bit in awe of some of the posts here.

I plan to do the new Anafrazic diet for the first 3 months of the year, and once I'm sub 3% bodyfat, I'm going to do another bulk. For that I'll use the T-Bone Anacrol Muncher Diet I read about on t-nation but I haven't decided yet. I might just use burgers like normal. I'll probably switch my lifting programme from Westside to Body By Bill in June, but to be honest, if I want to run a sub 3 hour marathon in October, I'll need to switch up to Westcross in August but I'll be training exclusively for the marathon on my Power Plate so it should be okay.

Solid plan.Just an opinion but you could get more from your Power Plate sessions if you were holding a bosu ball.Just spit-balling here...:D

To get into a training and diet routine that lasts 12 months. For the past 2 years I've had some good results when doing things right (or nearly right) but have always drifted back into laziness and bad habits... then I end up back at square one as I have now.

I'm not willing to spend money on a gym membership that I'm not using to its full potential so it's either quit the gym or sort myself out. I've no plans for the former so am hoping I can do the latter.

Mine are sub 10% BF in the summer so about 8% would be nice and a few more kilos on top of my lean weight.

    And get stronger of course.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,532 ✭✭✭WolfForager

Get to 8% bodyfat before the Leaving Cert. (Shouldn't be too hard as i'm 11.5% now)

Get my ass back into tae kwon do training. (Been out for 5 months... Won't be let to go for my 3rd degree now :( )

Win the TKD Europeans this year. (If i can still manage to get into the under 18 section :P)

    Be able to bench 100KG.

And of course, get 400+ points in my leaving cert.

    Happy New Years guys ;)

Just to continue where I left off last year, was a solid gym goer (averaged a weights workout 3 times a week, 2 minimum) keep up the swimming (need to improve my freestyle) and I'd like to cycle to work at least twice a week.

In terms of personal goals, get down below 90kg (currently 95, got down to 91 at one stage last year but never below) and to bench press 120kg (currently benching 100)

My Power Plate is ON the bosu ball. That extra instability works my functional muscle (it's really looking pumped) more than any other method I've ever tried.

I would like to put on about 10kgs in that 6 month period but I guess I'll just have to accept its gonna be a lot less. :)

main goal to lose 3 stone.

Im hittin the 20 stone mark so decided enough is enough. Im taking a leaf out of Gillian McKeith book ref to eating I spent most of xmas reading through and i must say she educated me in food, good bad etc.

So along with new diet and a good bit of gym work it should see me right.

Im thinking of keeping a picture diary along with a daily diary to keep me focused. :pac:

Best of luck with it. Her book is actually a good read, a bit like Jason Vale as a food Nazi! But it will work to kick start you on your way.

Be patient and enjoy every day as it comes! ;)

I think this is the most important piece of advise for anyone trying to lose weight. It took Michelangelo more than three years to carve David, chipping away piece by piece.

    Yes, great advice.

Also make sure to take photos, front and side preferably. You will look back in months/years to come and go 'HOW was i that FAT?!!!'
