Starting Strength

Would it be ok to use the starting strength programme for a month to just focus on strength gains? I have incorporated compound lifts into my programme anyway but what gains would I expect to make strength wise if I just stuck at starting strength for a solid month? Could I still do additional things that I want to do such as clean and presses and isolated leg work?

I just want to give myself something different. My common sense tells me that this programme is not strictly for beginners to powerlifting so would it be ok if I gave it a bash for a month? I intend to do that and a lot of HIIT cardio. Just to mix it up.

It's an excellent introduction to strength training, definitely give it a go, I managed to get quite considerable strength gains in a short space of time using it.
