would it be fair to say i should cut down on mayonnaise to get rid of my fat.

    6.6g saturates 22g polyunsat 7g omega 3, 14g omega 6.

koka noddles another of my favorites, do i need to cut these out of my diet altogether to succeed in losing fat.
    thanks

It depends how much fat you want to lose. If you want a six pack, you should cut out all crap food and do a lot of cardio.

If you want to just lose some weight, well it makes sense to eat less of the crap food you normally eat, and to do a bit more exercise - you know, burn more calories than you eat.

But in general, yes, mayonnaise and koka noodles are fairly pointless food.

    Fat isn't bad for you!!!

Here's a good article which references an exhaustive book on diet.

Go look up The Zone Diet and Paleo Diets if you want the top notch in food.

There are plenty who would disagree with you. I am no expert on the subject but always have an open mind on these things.

    Google "saturated fat is good".

    thanks for replys
well i have put on a stone of muscle and fat since i started working out a couple of months ago, i do want to put on more muscle and lose any fat, so i will cut out those foods.
i have read the stickys and have started to eat more fish tuna chicken pasta and continued with drinking alot of milk and eating eggs. i have cut out sausages pizza and lowered the amount of rashers i eat. its definately a better diet than i used to have so hopefully the weight gain will start to occur in the right areas.

Theres about the same calories in a pack of koka noodles as a big mac. I would sooner have the big mac, at least you get some protein too.

Need to improve my own diet :) Sounds like you are doing the right things.

Just get rid of the crap. Its simple enough.

I tried the zone diet and although zoners(?) :) will disagree ... I found it too complicated. I think it would work but I just don't have the time. If the zone/paleo diets are the optimum (not saying they are but just for context), then a few basic changes to your diet (of 1. cutting out MOST of the crap, 2. add veg, milk etc... 3. reduce carbs) would probably be 80/90% of a perfect diet.

    How so?

True. True. One thing I will add about milk - a lot of the studies doen on milk (particualry those cited by Cordain) mightn't necessarily hold true over here, where our cows predominantly eat grass, as opposed to grain. Makes a big difference.

Eh...was a while ago now but measuring portions and ratios and what not I guess. Maybe I was just lazy :pac: but to be honest. My wife and 2 year old wouldn't be eating my zone meals so having to make 2 (and sometimes 3) different meals every eveing just ain't gonna fly.

As for the milk ? Never even thought about that. Great. Now I have to go importing it
Have you a link to that info ?

Personally, I'd cut out the processed stuff and eat more whole foods, regardless of fat content. Kona noodles may be low fat, but they are full of refined carbs, and whole homemade mayo is excellent, most commercial ones are full of weird ingredients. Either make your own with eggs and olive oil, or just eat the eggs and olive oil.
