still fuming about the hand Iam big blind for 1200 everybody folds around till the small blind he looks at me and my stack and decides to raise it up to 3.5k I look down i find A 8 off suit and I know that the small blind just wants the pot and I am miles ahead so I push in the rest of my stack for 14k he thinks for about a minute and calls 1/3 off his stack 17.5K and shows K 3 suited flop 4QK 5 X here I am gone 66th .

OH DEAR, DOKE IS COMING OUT NOW, before we know it this event will be full of good players

this used to be full of donkeys and was easy, lay off lads and stay in your usual haunts, i've had this place all to myself for ages

    cmon lads,

lately i've seen rob T and kat out there, i'm told Jim and Chrisy Smith are coming out this week too, ffs, where will that end, next thing i know Willow will turn up and probably bring another Irish open winner along, clearly recognising the easy hits, ok but enough is enough, there's loads of other tourneys for you guys, so hey how about it? cut me some slack here

I SUPPOSE ANY Tourney Organisor CAN HAVE FOOD AT THE BREAK
    but
these guys are taking us round the corner to Siam Thai for a proper meal in a 1st rate restaurant

    Now thats Class

    Query;;;

If someone gets knocked out before the break, do they still get to go for the Thai meal ?

I also heard a rumour that 1st out and only 1st out gets to rebuy, is that true?

    Derek

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,317 ✭✭✭The Clamper

    HEY GUYS

    JUST so you know

this tourney tends to start precisely on time i.e. 8:30 sharp

they let entries in for the 1st hour but they get a stack blinded off, which is fair enough

oh yeah, better bring your A-Game, coz i feel a win coming on

    Derek

i went to see a clairvoyant, my 1st question was "did you know i was going to be late", she said "no", so i left and refused to pay the crank

i HAD A FAIRLY GOOD RUN AT THIS
until i hit a pair of queens against Eoghin Olin's AQ and Dave Masters AK in the same hand
i think there was approx 70k in the pot, which would have easily coasted me to the final table, unfortunately the lads chopped a AATT board and left me crippled

Rob of course must be in league with Satan

he shoved all in with Q3 os and was insta-called by the current chip leader Baz with 55 and said "call" and turned over his hand but didnt move any chips
the dealer misunderstood and took the cards and mucked them

the ruling was that Baz's cards touched the mucked cards = hand dead, Rob wins
luckily for Baz, the ruling didnt include his call chips aswell, which would have been very harsh

Rob doubles up from behind against Dave Masters and goes on to win the bloody thing AGAIN

no wonder he likes going there, thats probably the 3rd week in a row he won that event

there is talk of introducing a handicap starting stack system out there, as favorite, Rob would have to start off short stacked, seems fair to me

other than that beating i took, it was a great evening with a few newcomers who unfortunately i recognised as good players

we all were treated to a free meal in Siam Thai restaurant at the break, just a fair up market from cocktail sausages and finger food, to put it mildly

they know how to look after the customers in the Westbury, was heard more than once from the newbies

wd Larry and co, nice tourney, i will just have to wait til next month to take this down

    Derek

Another good result for us, particularly Runs Like God Rob, but looks like word is out on what a great tournament and place to play this is because overnight it seems this tournament has turned into as tough a field as you're likely to get. Felt I'd already taken a bad beat when I walked in the door and immediately recognised 10 or so of the best players around (most of whom ended up on the final table). Still, did make for a great tournament and meal was amazing as ever.

    COULDNT AGREE MORE

the room looked like a who's who in Irish poker

my 1st table was ok, then i moved to the table of death
Eoin Olin-Dave Masters- Baz and of course maniac Massimo and Lord God of poker luck Mr Rob Taylor
mpw really, what chance had i got there, with my limited skill set

i hear they are considering renaming the event
"The Rob Taylor cash-up event", its gettin ridiculous the amount of wins he has out there

    wd rob, u jammy swine

It's amazing how quickly you can go to being thought of as running soooo bad to being as Derek described above. Ahh, the joys of tourney variance... :D
