    Hi all,

Not sure where to put this but fitness seems appropriate as many of you would have experience, obviously mods move it if Ive chosen the wrong forum.

Im looking to get some proper running shoes but Im clueless as to where to start or where to buy them.

Can anyone recommened a shoe and somewhere/link I could purchase them?

Ive heard the asics gel series are very good but there are quite a few types within the series.

What kind of kmage/mileage do you do per week?

If it is moderate to high it may be worth getting a gait analysis done to ensure you are getting support in the areas relevant for your running style. I'm sure someone else here (or on the mara / tri forum) can tell you where to get these down in Ireland.

As far as I know different shoes have different soles / support... so what works for someone else may not work for you.

    Thanks.

At the moment Im doing about 30k a week. Will probably be increasing that as I improve though.

I'll try the mara/tri forum ty.

The two usual places recommended on Boards, if you are in Dublin, are Amphibian King in Bray and Sportsworld in Terenure.

I've got runners from both places and was very happy with the advice i got in both.
Amphibian King was a bit more scientific as they have a running track and they record you running on a computer and then analyse your gait and recommend according to that.
I have slightly dodgy knees and the shoes they recommmended for me are spot on.

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

if you are in dublin, runways on parnell st is a great shop, and i saw yesterday that elverys on suffolk st. now does a gait analysis aswell.

There's also a shop called amphibian king i think out in bray

hope that helps, btw you might have to pay around 100 euros or more to get a good pair of runners but they really are worth it if you want to start running consistently
