Would just love to see what fight scenes (martial arts or not) people loved the most in a movie.
Post up some clips if you have any.

For me there are so many. But here is two.

    (1) Blade

    2. Tom Yum Goong

Although it did'nt last too long the fight scene in the baths in Eastern Promises with Viggo Mortensen is very intense and violent.

I can't find a vid right now but I might post it later.

The fight at the beginning of brotherhood of the wolf is awesome, if for nothing else than being the the moment you realise you are watching a Period drama-martial arts-horror-whodunnit. Awesome.

    --- edit

Oh my god how did I forget. John Nada and Frank in They Live. Hilarious fight scene.

The final fight in No Retreat, No Surrender 3. Great cheesy martial fight. Watched so many times as a teenager.:)

If you can read this, you're too close!

Surprised this thread is still open. Anyway, I quite liked some of the fight scenes in the Kill Bill films: the opening fight in the suburban house, Gogo with her mace, and (my fave) Uma and Daryl Hannah tearing that mobile home apart. I mean, DH's character was a realiy bad person, but that was a nasty way for any fight to end...

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

I love the fight scene in Grosse Pointe Blank.

It just comes out of nowhere and is so utterly violent.

The Matrix: Neo Vs. Smith in the train station

    Bloodsport: The final fight

The Bourne Trilogy: Pretty much about every unarmed fight with another agent.

Seven Samurai: the Samurai duel. It's not particularly "lively", it's short, but it is intense. This is only the end of the fight. The build-up and stand-off is missing.

When the Last Sword is Drawn: The last major fight between the Shogun and government forces. Guns and Swords mix in rather bad ways. I can only find the end of the fight-scene on youtube.

StarWars: Episode 1, light-saber duel between Darth Maul vs. Obi-Wan Kenobi & QuiGon Jinn.

Just watched Old Boy again there, that fight is just stunning. It must have had to be done in one take.

 at the Tom Yum Goong crunching bone sounds!

'They live' (also parodied in south park).

Eastern Promises - the naked knees & elbows on hard tiles sort of vibe just looked very gritty - (also it reminded me of some of the tatooed beer monsters who frequent my gym/sauna).

Snatch - 'ready to rumble' or the bareknucke one.

    Sparta/Gladiator

    Platoon - Barnes vs Elias

Deathwish. -Mother****in Charlie Bronson vs the muggers

    Conair

    Raging Bull

    Dangerous Liasions duel scene

    Also . . .

True Romance - Clarence vs the pimp.

    The main scenes in Gorgeous.

    Police Story movies.

The fighting in Never Back Down was pretty good. More grit then I expected from that kind of teenage film.

And a whole load of Asian movies I can just never seem to remember the names of, shame.

Was just talking with a friend recently about how disappointing it is of the modern lack of bar room brawls and cheesy one man army actioners.

If you are looking to do the link stuff.
In the youtube site highlight then copy the embedded part to the right side of youtube clip. Then when you are posting a reply, paste it into your post. When you have done this, highlight it and then hit the youtube thingy in the top right of you post box.

The best one for me has to be Shoot'em Up especially this scene.
All other fight scenes are kind of ghey tbh.

It's from Flashpoint. Happened to see it in HMV for 6 euro during the week and I cannot recommend it enough. Another great Donnie Yen film to get your hands on is Dragon Tiger Gate.

The "Muay Thai vs Capoeira" fight scene from Ong Bak:

Or failing that, almost any of the fight scenes from "Dragon Lives Again" (not just a bruceploitation flick, according to a comment on IMDB, but in fact THE bruceploitation flick):

Bruce helping out his friend Chinese Popeye:

Bruce showing off his magical third leg (dubbed in Spanish for added hilarity):

Any tony Jaa film fight would be up there to me but ti keep it kind of random I would Pick the fight Between John Cusack and the assasin in Grosse Point Blank. I found that there was something very real about it
