CANON EOS 1D Mark III [body only] in Conns 4,000 euro (price on web site)

CANON EOS 1D Mark III [body only] (England) warehouseexpress.com 2,400 euro (after a euro convert)

lets buy in england, I know top photographers here in Ireland, and they never buy here, its too expensive.

I am looking to buy my first DSLR....

Do u recommend an online UK shop???

    Regards

At those prices, I'd nearly buy another 1D MkIII. :D

With the Euro being so strong, it's a very good time to buy from the UK.

I suspect, there will be an adjustment upwards in sterling pricing in the coming weeks based on a conversation with a Calumet employee.. You can already see it on the HK based ebay stores.

The Calumet guy was telling me they are getting orders from Japan for product daily and cannot see the manufacturers tolerating it as they are now losing every time they ship to the UK.

I went to Jessops in Newry last week and bought a 450D +18-55 lens :D for £434 (€499 at last weeks rates). They were also giving £25 gift voucher, the total worked out at €470. The cheapest 450D in dublin was €729 - no brainer.

    £1 = €1.09 + the fact that V.A.T. in the UK is 15%
It just comes down to a bit of basic math in the end.

I got the 450D 18-55mm IS and 55-250mm IS Double Zoom Kit from Warehouseexpress at the end of November for £653.99 including delivery.

At the time this worked out at €783.46, possibly should've held off another week or two before going ahead with it but still pretty happy with the fact that I effectively got the 55-250 for free when comparing to Irish shop prices.

Add in the cashback deal and I'll have gotten the lot for a shade over €700. :)

I have it from a reliable source than Canon prices are going up roughly 20% from January 1st in the UK. ::eek:

I heard the same about Sony (not just cameras, but TVs, etc).

Looks like many UK prices will increase, due to the cost of importing.

But for now, brilliant time to buy.

Think I'll drop into Warehouse Express when I head back "home" for Christmas. Could do some serious damage there. :pac:

I've been monitoring the D3 prices and they are €1000-€1300 cheaper in the UK. Now all I need is the money and I'll be set.
