Was looking around for a christmas/bday present for someone; Is there such a thing as a little Pedometer device you could clip onto your belt that would give you a readout of your Heartrate, Distance, Time, Avg. Speed and Top Speed etc.. as graphs if you were to later hook it up to a computer? Basically a way of getting the proper statistic over a week/month/year to map out progress.

Try EBay....got a very good one there recently! Most good sports shops will also sell them but expect to pay if buying in the south of Ireland! Ripoff Ireland!....That's why I got mine on EBay.
    Good Luck!

Sorry, should have made that clearer - I'm looking for brand names/models as opposed to outlets; preferably something under 150e

jimi_t, you might find it difficult to get something that will give you all those readings for under €150. A heart rate monitor might be your best bet at this price, it probably won't measure your distance at this price rate but you could combine with a pedometer if needs be. I use Polar HRM, expensive but they have great software and the chest strap is very comfortable.

It may be a lot more expensive but Garmin produce a GPS watch with HRM now, this will measure distance, speed, remember your route, heart rate monitoring etc., ultimate runners gift I'd say!

I use this one: timex body link and I have to say it's excellent.

You can use it as a standard watch without Heart Rate Monitor or GPS. You can use it as a HRM only, you can use it as GPS only or you can use both HRM and GPS. You can save all the information and connect to a PC when finished and plot graphs. You can even upload your runs/cycles/hikes to Google Maps or Google Earth. *Note* you need an additional data logger to log your runs/cycles/hikes.

I think I got mine for around E200 but I can't remember the exact price.
