Yeah, cant view it for whatever reason about embedding. Is it sad I know the song from that one little clip?

And for whoever mentioned Weezer song...listen to the Greatest Man That Ever Lived. Brilliant song.

I didnt watch it but if you want this to be complete youll have to put the song of the winner of the x factor on this... :D

Otherwise My Life - The Game featuring Lil Wayne adds a hip hop twang to it... It wont be a good cd if theres 20 tracks and 4 of them are by the Coronas... And Pork and Beans has been out for over a year...

Ben Folds featuring Regina Spektor: You Don't Know Me

    Good song

Jeez that Keane song is bloody awful. Contender for worst track of the year.

Do you only want songs that made it to the mainstream?

boards.ie must be acting up. It normally puts asterisks in for the word "sh*te", but in the above sentence it seems to have removed the word completely!!! :D:D

It WAS in between the words "complete" and "youll", wasn't it ? This is a thread about music, after all.....

Here's some Irish ones well worth inclusion:

    Neev - Gullible
The Script - Before the Worst
    Dash - Giants
    Bailer - Sixteen Months
Luan Parle - (almost anything from the album)
    Failing Earth - Mama

Lol the irony of you slating an X-Factor song then naming one by The Script as being in the Top 20 of the Year is delicious.

If you are going for mainstream songs then

    Coldplay - Viva la Vida
    Duffy - Mercy
    Killers - Human
    Kanye West - Love Lockdown

This has been receiving some radio play on 98 so I think it may be allowed.
Better Than Ed - Everything Is Alright

Fast-forward to 40 seconds to skip the talking. This song is available for free download, I'm trying to find out the link for ya. PM me for it if that's allowed, if not, mods can you edit this part out?

No irony whatsoever.....the X-factor rubbish is a dire karaoke cover-version of a classic, while The Script is an original song.

BTW, it's also not one of the ones that was released as a single - have you even heard it before you made your smart-assed comment ?

P.S. It also doesn't have idiotic lyrics like "Your sex is on fire".....amazing how blinker music snobs can be at times...

I know music is entirely subjective and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'd rather stab myself in the ears than listen to that collection of songs. Stick on Sex on Fire and that last Snow Patrol song and you have pretty much compiled a list of my most despised tracks from 2008.

edit - I should probably stick in some songs to stay on topic.

M.I.A. - Paper Planes (2007 really but it was big this year)
Estelle - American Boy (not terrible)
Kanye West - Paranoid (Album track, not a single yet but I'm sure it will be)

The Hold Steady - Song For The Cutters
    Neon Neon - Michael Douglas

    and thats it.

Yep I've downloaded and listened to the album and it's shite. I wouldn't be able to comment on the song otherwise.

I never said 'Sex on Fire' is a good song

Anyway, going on the songs already picked, the OP should probably have 'The Shock of the Lightning' by Oasis. Also consider 'This Is An Emergency' by the Pigeon Detectives.

For something a little different try 'My People' by the Presets.
