    Man utd news
Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov is struggling to be fit for the return to his old club Spurs as he battles to overcome an Achilles injury.

Wayne Rooney and Patrice Evra are suspended, but Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to return after a hip injury.

Michael Carrick and Rio Ferdinand are also doubtful starters.

"I don't know if Carrick is going to be fit, I don't know if Berbatov is going to be fit," said Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

"Rio Ferdinand picked up a back spasm again, so that is a concern for us too. With the squad we've got I hope we can cope but I'd rather not have [the problems]."

    possible line up

    VDS
    Raf--Evans--Vidic-O'Shea
    Ronaldo-Fletcher-Anderson-Park
    Tevez

    Berba

id say berba will be fit

In the interview I saw with Fergie on Sky he said Carrick had the best chance of overcoming his injury compared to Berba or Rio.

My guess at the team would be:

    VDS
    Raf--Evans--Vidic-O'Shea
    Ronaldo-Fletcher-Carrick-Park
    Tevez

    Berba

Huge game for United, must win really, im going to go with a 3-1 win.

    thats great news

he has really grown on me

i never rated him much but the midfield cant function without him

he has come along leaps and bounds

if Berba's not fit, it will be

    Giggs

    Tevez

would like to see welback instead of Giggs anyday

Hate seeing Giggs play up front but it is a move Fergie likes deploying now and again although in that same interview on sky sports (its on the website btw) he mentioned playing Ronaldo up the middle too. Personaly if Berba wasnt fit id play Anderson in a playmaker role behind Tevez and try get him on the ball as much as possible. He has been really hitting some form the last few weeks epecially with his passing and assists.

    I'm a bit apprehensive about this. 2-1 I think.

I don't think ronaldo will play in front of Raf. If raf plays i think park will be right side. As for the injuries i have no idea what will happen. This is a huge game and a must win, i can't see Chelsea, Villa, Liverpool or arsenal dropping points.

Come on United!!! I feel its gonna be very tough to win this,i wouldnt mind if Tevez score in 90th...

    Draw tbh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,841 ✭✭✭Running Bing

    Likely Spurs team:

    Gomes

    Corluka
    King
    Woodgate---Assou-Ekotto

    Lennon
    Huddlestone--Jenas
    Bentley

    Bent
    Pavlyuchenko

Modric likely to start on the bench but if not I would expect to see him in for Pav. Would personally prefer to see Bale start over Ekotto but probably wont happen.

String enough team tbh but its always a struggle against teams competeing for the title.

This will test our title credentials fo sho! I can see a 1-1 draw if im being honest, this is going to be very tough without Rooney and Evra, possibly without Ferdinand aswell.
Need Berbatov and Tevez to step up to the plate and deliver big time.

Yeah, I think if Utd draw today - irrespective of results elsewhere - it'll be another blow to the title bid. Especially seeing as they're off to the WCC, and don't play next till Boxing Day. They need to just be in touching distance.

That said, Spurs have looked so much better under Harry, and WHL isn't the easiest place to go and get a result. Hopefully Utd'll show why they're champions. I'd expect an entertaining match anyway, another 5-3!

Yep, we need the win today, otherwise by the time we come back from Japan we will have a insurmountable difference to make up again irrespective of games in hand IMO.

A result is vital, but i think we can do it unless we play gigs and tevez up front.

Just had a little bet on Carrick 16/1 and Berbs 5/1 first goal. Old players returning and all that.

Should work on Mac as well.

Just google 'tvu player' and 'download' for alternatives.

Pav is a tool nothing wrong with him, because he gets in the way of a possible goal he does the whole "keeper ****s up feigns injury" type of bollocks.
