1.2, and broke its total audience record by a lot with 1.8 million viewers.

The card looks alright. Dont like Matt Morgan though, so the tag title match is already slightly marred for me.

I say the feast or fired match will be good. Bad gimmick but with no X-division guys appearing on the main card I say it will be another showcase for them.

Card looks good enough!Im deffo gonna be watching it!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,478 ✭✭✭Bubs101

The card is awful. No jarrett. The Main Event is fundamentally flawed and the good guys in the ring will be outweighed by the bad. Christy Hemme and Eric Young are in singles matches during PPV = bad. No LAX or MCMG facing Beer Money, instead we get two useless big guys.

Angle vs. Rhino could be good but as there's a face special enforcer and the heel is guaranteed to win we won't see a clean finish, maybe even a Foley heel turn

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,602 ✭✭✭✭ShawnRaven

That card is of little or no interest to me at all!! Although it's good to see that Hemme is back in the ring, last time i was watching TNA, she was only appearing in occasional knockouts battle royals or as a valet to Rock & Rave Infection.

Hemmes improvement in the last few weeks has been amazing. She's gone from horrendously awful to not bad.

Hemme always was a fast learner, she learned quite quickly when she was in WWE too. Of course, she was turfed out shortly after. Once she's not needed in the ring, like anyone, rust sets in.

Good to see she's back in the ring again on a full time basis.

I still think it could be Rhino turning. Actually how certain is Christian Cage gone from TNA? They've taken him off the site and stuff but that could be just a work. He is technically still a member of MEM.

I don't think Christian is going anywhere personally. He'll never reach the level in WWE that he reached in TNA and has handy number road schedule wise too.

My guess is Frontline, Kurt, Abyss & Matt Morgan, Sheik Abdul Bashir, Awesome Kong and the Beautiful People & Sharmel.

Where can you watch this live?

    My predictions are...

    MEM
    Kurt
    Beer Money inc.
    Sheik
    Kong
    Taylor Wilde, ODB and Roxxi

TNA has announced that the "Feast or Famine" match will open this Sunday night's Final Resolution PPV. The match, which consists of the Motor City Machine Guns, LAX, Rock-n-Rave Infection, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Petey Williams, B.G. James, Consequences Creed, Curry Man, Cute Kip, and Shark Boy, will see all combatants vying to retrieve four briefcases hanging above the ring. Three of them will contain contracts for shots at the three TNA titles, and one will contain a pink slip, which will result in the firing of the wrestler who chooses it.

Would be funny if Curry man got the fired case, only to have Chris Daniels return a few weeks later!

True but then whats the point of "firing" someone that barely shows up anyway. They could work the Daniels thing into the Curry Man "firing". Last time BG wrestled was with EY against the Guns in August or September, he's an agent now I think.

Because you could get a world title shot. If you were say Shark Boy or Cute Kip,it could be worth the risk.

    Really? Think about it

If they get the wrong briefcase they're fired

If they get the right one they get a title shot. If Shark Boy were to get it, would he really believe that he could beat Sting?

Put yourself into their position. Let's say that you've been happily employed somewhere for a few years and one day your boss says that he's having a raffle where if your name gets called out then you have a 25% chance of being fired. And there's a 75% chance of getting a chance to win a big bonus. Would you really take it? Maybe if you were actually guaranteed to get the bonus, but the wrestlers are only guaranteed a title shot, not the title itself

Depends if I liked my job or not and if I believed I was being used to my full potential. If you where to look at it like a real fight anyone can beat anyone on a good day, within reason*. Also, people in title fights (real) often get bigger pay checks. So a better analogy would be. Would you enter the raffle if there was a 75% you would be guaranteed a bonus and a possibility you could become head of your department or get fired?

*I know some fool will say, well a baby can't beat Batista

I'm only over-analysing it because some people think that it's a match worth being in! There was one smart person in the match last year, Chris Harris I think. Although considering what happened him, he's the one guy who probably should have been grabbing for the briefcases :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,492 ✭✭✭EdK

Two men who have a "problem" with each other dont usually don lycra and copious amounts of baby oil to settle their differences in the real world either

TNA is usually criticised for being too complicated, this match is simple 3 people get title shots 1 gets fired, as for being in the match the participants are booked to take part as per their job, you say no you will have a higher than 75% chance of being fired im speaking logically here by the wayin a breaking it down for "real" type fashion, there is that element of risk but great reward for lesser known guys to potentially get the title shot they may never have or will have gotten another one

Think about matches such as the elimination chamber, you have a one in six chance of claiming the title but a far greater chance of getting seriously hurt, who in their right mind would be in any of these gimmick matches if wrestling was at all real

In essence dont over think things its just entertainment, it never has and never will make sense or follow any kind of logic:p

Was last year's match simple? Before the match they mentioned nothing about being able to hold onto the briefcases and using the title shots whenever they wanted. They never said that the respective title shots wouldn't be revealed at the PPV. Senshi lost his briefcase a few days later on Impact, before it was revealed what was in it. Steiner was offered money for his briefcase but instead he swapped it with Petey's. Then Steiner won that one back and he had two. Then he gave one back to Petey. That's complicated!

That's no comparison, they're going to get hurt anyway just by wrestling. They also get a chance of hurting their opponents more than usual. And matches like that are always spotlighted more, meaning more fan recognition if you're in one
    EdK wrote: »

I've seen plenty of wrestling that's followed logic. The best angles and gimmicks are always logical ones, because they're the ones that you can believe in and get behind

The Feast Or Fired match is just too illogical for me to believe that the goal of the wrestlers in the match should be to grab a briefcase. It's not like this is the only way to get a title shot in TNA. Didn't Jay Lethal get a World title shot on Impact the week after he became the number two contender to the X-Division title on PPV? People get title shots all the time for no real reason, it's not worth your job to try to get one in this match

I'm not going to get into an argument with you here, but I will say that if you were a vetern like Shark Boy who never advanced past the under-card his entire career, he may be willing to take the 25% risk for a shot at the gold. Ditto for a last chance salooner like Cute Kip. Granted, someone like Shelly or Lethal may not be willing to take the risk. But then again, they're young and arrogant, maybe they would be?

Ok, we're definitely overanalysing it here; heres hoping the match will provide some decent action and a few interesting anlges on Impact over the next few weeks.

Feast or Fired is not a good concept, they've even had the wrestlers effectively admit it in the ring. Didn't Kip James throw the briefcase at BJ because he didn't want to risk the 25% he'd get fired last year? It's just not worth the risk no matter how you look at it because the X division belt has effectively been made worthless recently and the chance of anyone in this match beating Sting in kayfabe is slim to none

They might not have to beat Sting. And as far as I know there are a few people in the match that already have wins over AJ Styles so it's very possible that someone in the match could get a World title shot and win it.

    Rhino update

Rhino worked the TNA house show tonight in Lawrenceburg, KY, after being hospitalized Friday night after not feeling well and having high blood pressure. So he is good to go for tomorrow night's PPV event in Orlando where he faces Kurt Angle.

Angle vs. Rhino is currently scheduled as the second to the last match on the show, with the eight-man tag team match with the Main Event Mafia vs. Team 3-D & A.J. Styles & Samoa Joe scheduled to go on last.

    Yay!

AJ won't win tonight. it's 100% a throwaway PPV and if AJ became champion because Bubba Ray pinned Steiner it would make a joke of the title

Thats a moot point. We're talking in kayfabe terms. And in the world of kayfabe, the odds are stacked in AJ's favour.

    MOOT.

It would make a joke of it...but that doesnt mean it wont happen. Say for example Booker gets pinned, it could start a bit of tension with Sting (thinking Booker should give up his legends title instead). The Front Line need something out of this PPV to have any sort of credibility in this feud.

Also, if anyone knows anywhere I could watch this live could they pm me? Cheers :D

It 100% won't happen. Would WWE have a title change in this kind of match on December to Dismember? No? This is TNA's equivalent. Every match on the card is a throwaway match

The idea of them taking the titles of Beer Money to give to Abyys and Morgan would be ridiculous. Don't think that even TNA would do that.

Lethal got the tag case btw.I really really hope that they end the Bashir Sewell programme to team Sewell with Lethal to have a mini Mega Powers against Beer Money. That could be absolutely awesome, almost as good as MCMG winning back the case from Lethal.

On other notes, Al Snow came back to screw over Foley. Be nice to see them bring him back full time with the crazy gimmick but on an F4Wonline show Snow said he was focusing on acting so it's unlikely

    Bit of an average PPV.

I was thinking that since the way Eric won the title they might have an X Division tourney. Plus the way that Sewell guy looks away from Bashir you swear he'd been raped by him.

Anyone else think Steiner looked a bit Dazed and Confused in his bout?

They are having an X-division tournament when literally the PPV before they had a battle royale to determine the standings in the X-division and were set to use those for a while I assumed, which is why Sonjay was number 10 contender for the X-division, so he'd get his shot eventually. but hang on, if sonjay was number 10, there's no champion anymore so that'd make him 11th in line, what's he doing in the top 8 of the X-division. Even worse, the MCMG are in it and didn't even compete in the x-division ladder battle royale. neither did that new guy. So half of the people in the tournament shouldn't be in the running for the X-division title based on what TNA said a month ago. I call shenanigans
