I registered as a student on the Autodesk website and this meant i could get free student editions of all atodesk software. But how do i download Autocad 2008? the only cad programs they have are autocad civil 3d, architechture, and other specialised programs.

Where's the regular autocad? Any students ever have experience with this? thanks

Members have access to free downloads and training for Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Civil 3D,

I wouldn't have thought that Autodesk would give AutoCad free to anyone

When you download and install Civil 3d or Architecture you are able to open them as normal AutoCad as well

    As rliston says.

Install civil3d and that includes "normal" autocad.

    Autocad is a POS anyways..

If you download the "Autodesk Student Community Download Tool" first, you can select AutoCAD 2008 from the list of programs to download. Or, as someone already said, just download a newer one and open it in 2D.

I downloaded the Elec one, and first thing I did was change the view to "regular" AutoCAD and bingo. Free, legitimate CAD. I was surprised AutoDesk offered this TBH.
