What do you think has been the best fued on the forum during 2008?

Criteria for choosing are up to you, but please explain your choice a bit. This is just for nominations, after people have been nominated I'll throw together a poll with all of the nominees so we can have a vote and crown ourselves a winner.

Special note on this one, keep it civil!

Rovert Vs The Rest Of The Board :D (not a dig at rovert, but he has had run ins with an awful lot of people)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,602 ✭✭✭✭ShawnRaven

I was gonna say this, but to keep it proper, i'd nominate rovert v shinzon or rovert v myself, the former because it went on for days with shinzon, and the latter speaks for itself.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

^ I was going to go for the latter as well, but did not really want to massage your ego too much.

Special nomination for Rovert Vs MNG. So much so that the latter dont post here anymore.

    My ego?! How about

    gimmick vs every other county
"I'm from Cark, and I'm more repulsive than you! ;)"

*disclaimer, that was a joke, a play on his sig!*
As for MNG, had this been done last year, myself and MNG would have taken that in a heartbeat!

How about ... Pro Kane Vs Anti Kane boards users.

It appeared in a few threads, before going full blast in the Was Kane Important to the ATtitude Era thread.

Damn why didn't i think of this!
rovert vs KKV! That was a lot more heated than myself and rovert!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,905 ✭✭✭✭Handsome Bob

Rovert v KKV; it pretty much symbolised everything that was wrong with this place. Endless arguing and baiting of posters in threads to reignite arguments. The "feud" served a good purpose in highlighting the BS so that's why I'm voting for it.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,972 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

    Rovert vs the PW forum

or if that nomination isnt cosure then the big Kane debate 08, Kanenites vs everyone else.. know that sounds like a flame war

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,959 ✭✭✭rizzla

rovert vs Helpdesk forum. Man those threads are amazing.

Or just on the PW forum rovert vs KKV.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,917 ✭✭✭RebelRockChick

Gotta go with rovert vs. KKV!

I would hope that wouldn't be regarded as a feud as I went to great lengths to avoid one!

+1 for rovert vs the PW forum though or failing that, rovert vs VR.

Rovert was amazing this year, I thought his feeback threads were great reading, although while his fued with KKV was memorable it has to be the one he had with SRaven wins, just immense neither refused to back down. :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,600 ✭✭✭✭CMpunked

    Rovert v KKV
    Rovert v SR!
    Rovert v the feedback

    Any one of those three.

    No take the SR one.

And couple the other two into that massive super feud which started off with KKV and moved to the feedback site.

Man, that kanefest 08 is legendary now, i honestly cant remember when it even started really, it just.. did! :pac:

That was nothing compared to mine and MNGs Pro/Anti HHH threads that went on for eons. What a lot of people didn't know for months is that we actually agree on a lot of stuff, especially our views on politics.

The major letdown was the podcast we had him on, where people expected a Dunphy v Charlton type face off, and we ended up agreeing on a load of stuff. :)

Myself and Rovert seem to get the blame shoved on us for that. In fact KKV put us both on ignore as a result of it. But myself, and yourself ended up backing off (K-N-N didn't really get that much involved to his credit), and it ended up being KKV and rovert for about 2 pages or something. It got completely out of hand.

rovert ended throwing that one on feedback too, giving a few SMods some headaches in the process too.

What was awesome about your feud with Rovert, was as everyone knows Rovert normally starts posting at 7am when he gets up, and threads would go on for ages only stopping when someone went to get dinner and roll on till night time.
Their was a Kane thread where their was a poll on him, and someone stuck up a list of who voted him good and bad! I thought their was going to be an asweome internet war between both sides:D

Myself and himself have had some fairly monumental HHH arguments (which brought Hogan into it as well) in the past as well, but then, that would have been more 2006.

The only constant here is Rovert Vs A N Other :)

I think it was a momentary lapse of sanity in a lot of those involved's parts. :)

Myself and rovert's days started and ended around the same times, so the back and forth was fairly consistant. Frustrating as it was being one opinion vs his, it must have made for interesting reading for those not involved in the discussion. Over time it just got frustrating. Debates like that with MNG were fun, but the ones with rovert (and this isn't a knock, to cover my ass here) got frustrating after time. Myself and MNG respected each others opinion, with rovert it always felt like he had to be always right.

It was an open poll and rovert i think threw up the list of those who voted who (i wasn't even sure if that could be done). It was interesting the amount of people who only lurked who actually voted.

Heated as it appeared at the time, looking back, that was a f*ckload of fun!

Dunno about that, but the Kane threads definitely dominated the PW forum for that week!

    Tough choice here,

    I'm torn between:

    rovert vs. Kane
    rovert vs. forum
    or
    rovert vs. the world

I'll go with the last one.

That old chestnut again! KKV thought that as well. Fact of the matter is, we just shared the same opinion on Kane. But that's as far as it went.

You see HHH = the root of all evil! :pac:

I find myself looking back on those times with a bit of sadness because everyone was so passionate whereas now...well, it seems for most of us the passion for wrestling has evaporated. Maybe with the run-up to the Rumble my interest will be revived but for now I'm just content to watch clips of the old stuff.

Say what you like, HHH is still good for business, people will pay money to see him drop the belt! :D

We really did care about WWE around that time though, despite the fact that it was going rapidly downhill (not to say i didn't see it coming then, i did), but tha's neither here nor there. We had reasons to watch, HHH's comeback was a focal point because we'd wonder what he'd look like after wellness, Mysterio's comeback and how he ended up looking like a fat pile of lard, Jericho's comeback and how i'd convinced myself it was all about Edge.

MNG's monthly bitchfests of HHH were priceless back then too. Especially after a PPV!

Fair balls to Mr. Oats (what the hell does your username mean ? I just keep thining either oreoes or oreo-oats). Anyway, ye took a bit of a chance on these threads and they've provided some good banter and the chance to put a few old touchy issues to rest. And there's not been too much acting the plonker nonsense. Well done. :)

Cheers man! I gotta admit I'm very happy with how they have turned out, one or two pot-shots aside, but overall I'm a happy chap :)

And the username is a character from a classical greek play, or the name of a kick ass song by A Perfect Circle. I wish I could say I got it from the latter, but it's very nerdishly from the first
