Right side bigger than left

    My right side would be my strongest side and I can see differences in the size on the left side of my body. Am I the only one with this problem or is it a problem? maybe I should start focusing on pulling/lifting a bit more with the left hand side.

    In terms of bi/tri exercises I would recommend that you do your weaker side first. I often find that I will reach failure quicker on my weaker side. As such I'll only do the same amount of reps on my strong side to ensure a balanced work out.

    Very common. If lifting a barbell you might unconciously lift with your strong arm more. This then strenghtens it more, and the other is left behind, compounding the effect. I had that problem so switched to dumbbells and didnt train my right arm much at all, until the left caught up.

    You could try lunges too, since the same could be happening on your legs if you squat.

    No don't, continue to lift as normal and don't favour a weaker side.

    This is a common mistake made by novices, and its terrible advice to pass along.

    Lifting weights, like all aspects of fitness/training is a life style commitment. Which basically mean's your in it for the long haul, so while in the short to even mid term it might seem like you've got lagging body parts those parts will strenghten and catch up with the stronger side.

    Between us we have one good person, my left side is larger than my right.

    Everyone is different and Mairt is right that a lot of times it just catches up after your novice stage, but my imbalance has lead to serious injury in my torso on 2 occasions long after my novice phase. If I were you I wouldn't neccessarily drop the barbell, but I'd do a lot more single arm and single leg work, but make sure you do the same work on both sides. Don't do one side only that will only lead to further imbalances, but nature should take it's course if you give both sides the same work to do.

    i had this problem for a while.
    i started using dumbbells instead of barbells for a few months and they eventually evened out.

    Try to use dumbbells for every exercise which can use dumbbells.

    Yup, that's why in my post I said single arm work. What I meant by not dropping the barbell altogether from the programme was that he does barbell in addition to single arm and leg work.
