Personally, I don't think it's right for girls to hit boys either.

pfft, who says we cant? ;)

nah, it all comes down to equality, or lack thereof. Since all the wimmins burnt their bra's off in the 60s, they've been runnin the place. They pick and choose societies unwritten equality rules to keep the good parts, and upgrade the bad parts. ie, they want to be trated chivalrous like back in the day, and have gentlemen callers, yet they want equal pay and the right to vote, work and drive. (though i dont understand when it became a good idea to let them drive). Oh, and to not get bitch slapped for skipping the dinner/ironing.

A nice chunkey phlemey gollier usually does the trick.

Then again, not many women would bother doing that, not that i know anyways.

if its a nice slap I'll take it and laugh

If it a punch "hello dude":D

Seriously if not lady like I am not going to treat you like a lady same way as if you are not a gentleman I am not going to treat you like a gentleman

Hitting women and children is wrong. Pighead's not sure about hermaphrodites. He's in two minds about that one.

It stems back to the idea that men are normally stronger than women in most cases.
(I say in most cases - I still remember the 70's and the Russian female shot throwers - boy they were big!)

If the stronger man hit a woman, it was considered that he was taking advantage of the females possible disadvantage to retaliate equally in strength.
That and the fact that it was and still bloomin is, a sign of extreme bad manners (to put it mildly) by any bloke.
If all a bloke can do is hit out - well, least said here about what a lot of others think about him, the better!

As for females hitting females - thats just a nasty cat-fight and is terrible to see.

I'm old or getting there. There's a lot to be said for old fashioned manners.

No girl has ever hit me (well, besides my older sisters when I was a kid. By the time I reached 7, they knew not to mess with me:D).

However, if a girl was to do it, I honestly don't know how I'd react. I guess it all depends on the situation and who the girl is etc. For me, I'd consider a girl to be a puny, glasses-wearing boy. That is, I would never want to hit them, and wouldn't do it if it was just because they were annoyihng me or mildly hitting me. But if it was some slapper going for the crotch or armed in some way etc, I can guarantee you she'd be on the ground within half a second.

    I'm a true feminist:D

2 minds? ye one is to hit them, and the other is to "hit that"! :p

This was done to death a while back. If I remember correctly, some people put me in the same class as wife beaters because I was arguing the equality argument.

I'll try and dig it up.

    Actually, I'm not sure.

Personally, I think neither should hit. It's a sign of stupidity if two people can't sit down and discuss something without hitting or fighting.

Having said that, I was typing an essay once and my then boyfriend kept pushing buttons on my laptop so I laughed and shoved him away and he got annoyed and slapped me loadsa times! Left a handmark and all. That's not right in my opinion!

People just shouldn't (seriously) hit people to begin with.

I'll tell you why its because girls can't hit so they can't really hurt men whereas if men hit them they'd know about it :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it comes down to manners , I'm seriously not going to let a woman get away with the excuse "I am a lady "if she hits me maliciously for no reason .The case in which I am talking about is a woman with no manners.

I am the last person to resort to violence and people who know me know that but it would come down to common sense.
I they hit me for real they will get one back.

they only want equal rights when it benefits them, i.e. same wages, rights to vote, but when it comes to the hitting it's a whole different scenario.

If a woman hit me I'd be all like 'hey. Woman! Get in the kitchen and bake me a pie!'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,971 ✭✭✭Holsten

    Pffft..

If a girl slaps me, I might let it go.

If she actually punches me in the face she'll be getting a swift smack back.

    This is relative: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiwXb26mloQ

    . . . . . . . inky.gif blinky.gif pinky.gif clyde.gif

that's the thing with feminism... its not about women having equal rights... its about women having MORE rights.

That's what my ex said. Except, I never hit him. Ever. So it's not really the same thing. I don't think either man nor woman should hit anyone. It should be unacceptable from both sides.

I hit a girl (gender was arguable actually). I'll keep that for another thread tho. :D

You should try hitting me or my fellow martial arts ladies some time.

Don't think I could hit a girl really, outside of actually having to defend myself (as in I'm not going to allow a girl to smack me repeatedly). But even then I would opt to pin them down really.

Now in the bedroom though that's a different matter.

    It's a bit stupid really.

Just because women have smaller feet.

if a woman hit me i would hit her right back

    Hmmm.

Usual reason would be because men are bigger and stronger and thus it's unfair. I know plenty of girls who I would definitely not want to fight though.

I know a mate of mine was punched by a couple of Irish girls on holiday, and he didn't know what to do. If it had been a lad he'd have punched back, but he didn't really have a clue what he should do. Lucky for him a bouncer wandered over who had less qualms about hitting women.

I went out with a girl who'd had an abusive parent and whose previous boyfriend while a nice guy had clearly got a temper and had obviously hit her a few times. She was absolutely petrified of ever being hit and expected it a lot which was really sad. She hit me once in an argument, mainly because it had been all she'd grown up with, and I just held her until she calmed down. I wasn't ever going to hit her, but then some people would have. She felt terrible about it, which was the crucial part of it.

I would know girls who think it's ok to hit guys, and quite hard really. People usually laugh it off, but it does kind of bug me. Violence is never the right answer, from either gender.

Why is it that it's a mortal sin almost?

Because my Dad told me not to and that he kick the crap outa me if I did. So I dont.

No, it's fine for lads to fight, all male animals are made to compete in that way. Attacking females is never seen, even in the animal kingdom. And if there's none of it there, that's a sure sign that it ain't natural.

They shouldn't .I used to never get in the situation where is could happen but once you get belted around the place for no reason, you realise , sometimes turning the other cheek is not going to work .

I seen a bouncer punch a girl outside a popular temple bar night club a few years back.

I suspect the bouncer had no penis.

Oh, for the record, I am in the "no one should hit anyone" camp. The fact that someone will resort to violence for anything other than defence says alot about them, regardless of their choice of opponent.

Yup. We were messing. He got annoyed, slapped me hard. So I shoved him and said he hurt me. He did it again and said it didn't make a difference that I was a girl. Messing is fine but when you've said it hurts and it's left a hand print on your skin, it's time to stop!

No, wasn't that kind of slapping. :D
