no its just less and less posts saying "+1" and "Ha ha that was so funny that i want to have your babies and call them jill and billy" so naturally it would seem there is a higher frequency of posts with substance.

Meh, the way I see it, the more people moan about it, the more people will do it. Most of the people who throw it in for no good reason do it to annoy the people who get annoyed about it.

To be honest, I do my best to have intelligent posts (as well as the odd funny one). I feel it's a hell of a lot more satisfying to receive thanks for an informative argument, or even for a particularily true & well made point, as opposed to just being funny. Although sometimes the best posts are both informed and humorous

I like my slap on the back of the head idea. Meme's are tempory, but physicial abuse is timeless.
