    Lads,

    I am sure this has been discussed before, any advantages in doing "light" weights, up to 30 until muscle failure. Other than muscle endurance is there much point

    Depends what your goals are. Some would want endurance and little mass gain. I can do over 30 dips per set and feel it the next day. It might not be the most efficent way for hypertrophy but I am sure there are some mass & strength gains.

    Also makes a good warmup, you can focus on form too.

    True, but after 5 reps of your 5 rep max your heart will be doing the same thing I reckon. Its no substitution for actual cardio though.

    I'm far from and expert but I think that if you have the time and equipment to do weight training, you might as well train at the highest intensity you can and therefore get the maximum benefit from your time.

    Any exercise is better than none, so if light weights are all you have, use them. If you have a choice, then heavy weights will produce better results. However, after a heavy day, a light day can be a good recovery.
