    Hey all.

I'm an over-weight, 6ft 19 year old male. 16st on the button. I recently got the motivation to get back to the gym and work on getting in shape. I'd like to get down to below the 15st mark. A friend and poster on this forum suggested I come here for advice on diet.

I don't really know much on the subject, just that I should lower my carbs and try for 30g of protein in each meal.

Up until now my diet as consisted of whatever I felt like eating really. Pasta, pizza, chips, fizzy drinks etc.

What should I be eating that will help me lose the fat? How often?

Any advice on this would be a great help.

    Cheers all.

    Brandon

Eat fresh food. Lots of oily fish, fresh meat, eggs, chicken, lots and lots and lots of green vegetables, some olive oil, some fresh fruit, some dairy and cheese, nuts, seeds, wholegrains. Cut out the junk. No transfats or sugar, no processed foods, nothing that has sugar as one of the first four ingredients.

You'll find you can still eat lots, but it will all be much better food, and you'll probably save money too. All that processed junk adds up.
