We need to watch the employers closely this Christmas. There are plenty of companies that are not effected directly by the recession e.g Pharma, med devices etc..... Make sure you watch these F**kers to make sure they don't cancel and blame the recession.

Plus your MA is having a Christmas party! You are not invited though. That would be a bit dodgy.

Hey, even before the recession the company I work with didn't have a christmas party.

The tight fisted so (boss)and so cancelled it a few years ago so he can buy another ivory back-scratcher.

Get to know them better, build better relationships, and maybe finger one or two of them.

My job stopped having them a couple of years ago, worked them for a while in an old job though, not the biggest fan of them unless it's a free bar. :D

Fantastic career advice here - staright to the top

Considering people were let go from our place lately we dont reckon there'll be a party so we're organising a few beers anyway. Doesn't bother me too much - they brought us to the dogs a few months ago & it was a far better night than the christmas party - and the accountant was happy woth how reasonable it was (although leaving the till total for the free bar facing us wasn't too smart...the last 20 mins contributed €200 to it...)

    BOO HOO!!

We have always had to pay for our own christmas party, not even the sniff of a free drink from work.

No sign of any cutback on the christmas festivities in my workplace,
we're still off for an all expenses paid weekend in Las Vegas. Guess I'm
lucky working in the Public Sector.

still on but majorily scalled down this yr. Going for a meal and few drinks in a local pub/restaurant. Better than nothing. Think after the hard work all yr they need to keep morale up. Gives ya a boost for a while at least!
